Personally I class myself as an Ipswich fan these days considering I've decided to continue attending the same local track to watch live Speedway for a few years now.

Naturally I want to see that Club (Ipswich) win every time no matter who the opposition is as it's the Club/Team that I pay money to support and watch on a regular basis.

Much like Ex-Swindon fans who attend Oxford meetings and support them on a regular basis.

Louis certainly wasn’t lazy. He was continuously knocked back, but went back to the same riders and was knocked back again. 
 

We’ll agree to disagree here. It’s incredibly lazy for shouts on here to “go and get a world class heatleader” mid-season. 

It's delusional for anyone to think that it's lazy of the Bates family for example to not get themselves in even bigger financial trouble by signing a World Class replacement for Jack Holder just to mount a title challenge on BSN.

Fact is, it wasn't a one horse race back then as Sheffield still had their full 1-7 available, and that was why you failed to make the final. The loss of Holder is what has killed the season.

I know somebody will comment about Kurtz being ill for the Owlerton leg, but the fact that you were smashed that day shows what happens when your number 1 rider is unavailable. Now try riding 2/3rds of the season like that !!

Unlike previous seasons, This year there is a reason as to why Clubs haven't splashed the cash to improve their teams throughout the season in an attempt to make a challenge for the title.

Promotions have basically said to Belle Vue.....You can have it, If you want it because we're not going to put a further strain on our bank accounts that could jeopardise the future of the Club moving forwards after the loss of a TV deal as well as the League format being too repetitive to a point where the majority of fans have become straight up bored of the product this year.

i couldn't be arsed if belle vue win this season or next, the sport in this country has trashed its self, and its not going to get better any time soon. its still going down hill.

Truth and opinion can be easily distinguished when doing a cursory fact check of the situation. 

As an aside, I’ve said many times that no club can currently crow about their crowds as we are all woeful. Petty biased points scoring is ridiculous given the state of our sport currently.

I am reading Simmo's book and he talks about when he took over Lynn and after the early season promise the Lynn team started falling apart (sounds familiar) and he then goes on to lambast how crowds got down to roughly 2k per meeting.

Its a long while ago but I was going regularly in 88 & 89 when he mentions the 2k poor crowds and personally I don't remember them being that high other than the first 1-4 meetings when on paper it looked like we would steam role everyone and the place was absolutely packed.

Anyway if Simmo was right a 2k crowd today would be classed as bumper.

Leicester have won the cup and finished 2nd can can win the playoffs

Sheffield built a strong team, they will now be paying Max a big sum to ride in the play offs, they can also win it.

Lynn built a team good enough to challenge with a GP number 1, for some reason it hasn't worked out. 

Ipswich could have gone for Doyle at anytime time, they chose not too, BV did, and that's paid off.

Lets not pretend this years league is weaker than last year, it isn't. The bottom 2 last year were cannon fodder, Lynn were not much better.  This year the last play off place went to the wire.  Yes BV ran away with the league phase, but hats based on huge improvements of 3 riders that anyone could have signed over the years, in PK, TZ and Norrick. In fact most on here were slagging off the bottom end of the BV team back in March. 

It just comes across as massive sour grapes from the 2 or 3 (No more than that) Ipswich fans who were walking around waving their nobs about last season.

Name me one side other than Belle Vue that's spent money during the season to improve their septet in order to overcome the problems they've faced just to mount a title challenge on BSN?

Belle Vue have had it easy this season with the other teams being hugely weakened and they have took advantage

Lets look at the big 4 from last season 

Belle Vue replaced Lidsey with Kildemand and Mulford with Cairns … weaker 

Leicester lost Fricke and Becker replaced by Dan T and Morris then lost probably the best reserve in the league …. Much weaker 

Sheffield lost Morris replaced by Killeen and then lost their number one and could not replace him … much weaker 

Ipswich lost Emil Doyle Ellis and Dan T replaced by Lawson Nicholls Musielek and Pedersen …. well well short of last season …. Proving by how comfortable we was against Belle Vue at home last season compared to this 

For Belle Vue fans to not say the league is weaker this season is a joke as the changes I’ve posted above show that clearly … although the injury to Holder was an enforced issue not a promotional choice 

Belle Vue deserve credit for persevering with Blodorn Cook and Tate riders who fly round the NSS but season after season pretty poor away from home ..and for being unlucky in losing Bewley but getting Doyle quickly …

But to say the league this season is tougher than last is just not true ….

Once we saw how poor 3 of the teams were then it was down to only Sheffield and Leicester and the Holder injury/ loss of fricke and Howarth … means Belle Vue will be champions unless they bottle it
