More likely than not, yes

His stats as a "number 1" make quite interesting reading. Of the 34 matches that Leicester rode last season Dougy didn't appear in any heat 13's but did appear in 19 heat 15's. If it was at home he generally won it or came 2nd to his team mate, if it was away he struggled.

Not and "out and out number 1" for me

Can you pull out the stats for Max and Sam? Just curious about how many Heat 15's we won away?

I am a Leicester fan and I never want to see quitter Kemp or sniffer Morris in a Lions race jacket again, they've both let the club down badly in the past!

Based on his average I can understand why clubs are after Morris, if I was a Birmingham or Leicester fan probably wouldn't want him back.

Incidentally has Morris ever explained why he didn't take the drugs/alcohol test or apologised to the people he let down?

Nope, not to the fans.

No thanks 👎🏻

A half decent CL team 👍🏻

A very, very decent Champ team I'd suggest.

Difficult to gauge it against others until we see line ups announced. The loss of Fricke is big though.

He didn’t take the because he would have failed would have been his answer, if he was asked to explain.

With the other teams naming high-profile number one riders, will there be a change to Leicester's apparent team-building approach?

Could there still be an Australian wearing no.1, but not the one being widely tipped?

Doubt it. Who’s better than Douglas? Kurtz obviously, but who else?

No.   We know Leicester's team-building is done with strength-in-depth in mind.     If they wanted a big-hitting No.1, they'd have kept Fricke.

Who is available, who is better than Douglas, who could challenge Fricke, Kurtz, Bewley, Holder as a high-profile No.1?   There's only Zmarzlik, and if they were willing to push the boat out for Zmarzlik, then keeping Fricke would have been a cheaper and easier No.1 option.

But in such a cut-throat league as the one we could have in 2026, with 5 teams and the 37 points limit, there will be a premium on riders able to increase their CMA's, even by small amounts.

Fricke could increase his average, but not by much. Kurtz on the other hand could put a point or more on his, a huge advantage to whichever team he's with. Likewise Doyle, if he changes his mind about doing UK league.

Could Dougie push his average up? Hope im wrong but I doubt it. Dan Thompson definitely should, Masters maybe by half a point.

So I repeat my question.

If Leicester were to change their mind and decide that Douglas isn't strong enough to be a No.1, who can challenge Fricke, Bewley, Kurtz and Holder,  then who could they sign?

I can only think of Zmarzlik as an option, and that's clearly a no-no.

It's obvious the Leicester top 5 is Douglas, Masters, Morris, Thompson and Howarth.

Has Kurtz even been provisionally announced by any side yet?

Can't recall Dougie having been likewise by Leicester yet, either.

Let alone being part of a full 1-7 officially ratified by the SCB
