Redcar 2026

The Glasgow track was prepared almost exactly the same as last Friday, which also resulted in a big track grade after heat 4, scraping shale off on to the mini track. Glasgow have been preparing deeper tracks at the request of the Tigers riders, but the last 2 weeks have seen riders from both teams struggle to turn their bikes in the early heats, hence the remedial work after heat 4 (I'm not an expert on track prep so I'm not even going to suggest what went wrong).

What I can say though is the track prep had nothing to do with Redcar being in town.

FFS! However Redcar smartly gated and hugged the inside line for the first 7/8 heats building a decent lead whilst Glasgow outside Flint and Harris could barely ride it. Frustrating we did this again with the same outcome of needing big finishes in the last 4 heats to rescue the meeting, as exciting as it was.

We can't do this against Poole next week, we need everything to go our way and even then it may not be enough.

Jenkins would have scored more than Lambert so would have made a difference. Silly statement.

I've scanned back through his scores this season and you're right he would have vastly outscored Lambert. I wasn't at the Berwick meeting last month at Ashfield to see him but if he'd scored likewise for Redcar we would have been toast.

Think a lot of Redcar fans being quite harsh on your team in terms of throwing it away. You have to remember Ashfield generally creates a better home advantage in the second half of the meeting, home advantage race lines become more apparent to the Glasgow team and tried and tested bike set ups used sooner.

Think credit to both teams for great night of speedway and a brilliant travelling support both in number and in voice. Another week where speedway was the winner IMHO.
