secsy1
Lets face it, presently all the top riders have machinery in each of the main leagues of Europe and travel extensively between them, so no extra cost. 4 or 5 British teams in it instead of a Premiership and an open invitation to Danish, Swedish, German, Latvian, Polish and any other country prepared to enter. Potentially 6 man teams and a fixed Monday and Thursday race night. Other minor details to be squabbled about, but just a thought!

Ben91
Poland want the sport in a stranglehold. This would be the exact opposite. Doesn’t suit their agenda so won’t happen.
mikebv
It was discussed a few years ago... The plan, if I remember correctly, was for any rider in two or three teams to ride for the team in his own nation. Eg if he was Danish he rode for his Danish team, with the other teams he rode for bringing in a guest... Riders such as Aussies would ride for the team in the country they first appeared in... It never got past the discussion stage it appears....

There was a huge debate about Holder and Ward as to who they should ride for. But at the end of the day it all came down to money! Anyone riding in the Polish League wanted the same Polish pay rates for every round, no matter who they rode for!
enotian
Should be something that the SGP series owners implement(ed). They need to develop both the pool of competitive riders and the venues for the series. I'd have gone 16 franchises across Europe at venues that do or could be developed to stage GP's. 4TT, 4 home and 15 away fixtures. Play Off and Final. That's 20 plus meetings which is probably enough for the GP riders (or maybe they do one domestic league as well) if you get the financing right. Graded teams build to 10 grade points 4: Top 20 ranked riders in the world 3: Riders ranked 21 to 40 in the world 2: Any other rider (i.e. over 25 but not in the top 40 ranked riders) 1: Any rider Under 25 years old not in the top 40 ranked riders 0: Any rider Under 21 years old not in the top 40 ranked riders Domestic leagues based around the riders they can attract. i.e. in the UK you probably wouldn't attract any of the GP riders so it sends you down the one big league set up.
