Col Posted July 4 Report Share Posted July 4 Because in Poland speedway is more appealing to youngsters. It's behind Football and pretty much nothing else. In the UK it's behind Football, both codes of Rugby, Cricket, Athletics, Netball, Horse Racing even Ice Hockey attracts more fans. And there is more opportunity to give it a try as there are more tracks, 16 U21 team spaces available in top league in the world. Well Handball & Volleyball are not far behind Speedway in Poland. But it is certainly not the minor sport it has become in the UK. We have Lambert & Bewley who are still in their 20's and a few hopefuls who are getting Ekstraliga rides. Tell me what's gone wrong in Sweden... haven't produced a decent rider in 15 years.
