Young Stars 2026

What's the actual point in a Development league. What's developing Speedway riders into Pensioners?

Could Kings Lynn get fined under Trade Description Act "Young Stars" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

They are still developing Binns, Cossey, Huthwaite etc but this is the issue with a too high points limit unfortunately, Lynn have had to sign established Champ riders and old hands to be competitive. Plus I'm cynical about Kennet's motives, no doubt it involves Poole and using him as a ringer. There's only so long British speedway can keep treating its patrons like they're daft.

Didn’t think British Speedway could get any lower but it just did. No one believes that Kennet really wants to ride in the NDL for £10 a point, it’s just a move so he can guest elsewhere, we all know where , no doubt the ‘ Young Stars ‘ team manager , who loves a bit of publicity, will be ecstatic he can put Lambert and Kennet out in heats 13 & 15.

i dont know why Kings Lynn have bowed down to it to be honest, also curious to see how many meetings he actually does for the young stars too.

I think its as simple as the need to be competitive. Apparently they had Gilkes signed until he got injured again, got to desperation levels I'd have thought.

Absolute piss-take.

The claimed to have signed elderly 37-year-old Simon Lambert to help coach the younger riders.    Will he also be coaching the more elderly 39-year-old Edward Kennett?

How are the BSPL allowing this to happen?

They raised the points limit, and allowed in old has-beens who are far too good for NDL, so that some glory-hunters can go on an ego trip, and in doing so they make NDL unviable for the likes of Belle Vue, Sheffield/Scunthorpe and Plymouth who actually wanted to develop youngsters.

Utter madness.

Agreed, i supported the Lambert signing as he has links to the club and i dont think its a bad thing having an older rider in the team, this signing is taking the piss.

But  Kennett could teach the youngsters like 33 year old Sam Woods so much 🤪
