Redcar vs Workington, BSN Series 10/04/26

First of all I hope Vinnie isn't too beat up after lifting off the 4th bend and ploughing into the fence ( No tattie puns please 😉). Following a first ride where he struggled with the track he was much more competetive. Shame after superbly getting into a 5-1 behind Cookie and looking comfortable he lifted and couldn't get it down in time.

This was always going to be a tough task but we were left rueing points thrown away when in good race positions. Niklas looks a real racer and I look forward to see him develop as he settles in to British racing. Signs are that consistency will be pivotal to our chances of competing at the sharp end.

Well done the Bears who all chipped in.

The 10 last places undid the Comets but there were some promising signs. UTC

This track is a disgrace. How vinnie got up from that and walked away I’ll never know.

Vinnies fall was nothing to do with the track. He's also on his way to hospital with a very swollen knee.

Good result both danes looked good, vinnie after a poor first ride improved, tate tried hard which saw him fall, young jamie a little off the pace, but for the falls we could have won.the downside the first bend rut should have been noticed since the last meeting almost an hours delay saw some fans leaving.

Jody Scott's EF whilst Redcar were on a 5 - 1 cost Redcar a bigger win.

Was not a bad meeting for the comets plenty of positives to take away, especially since it was the 1st time on track as a team, the young Dane is certainly a racer never gave up, deserved more than 2 points, were on 5-1 s twice, until Vinnie binned it in the fence after violently lifting off the 4th bend, hope Vinnie is ok and the bike isn't too badly bent, but did not look good. Then Tate went wide when on 5-1 with cookie, battled back for 3rd place. More good times to come UTC 😀🏁🔵

Even if it wasn’t, the track was a disgrace all night. Wasted 40 minutes trying to rectify it and it was no better. Fella on the tractor didn’t look like he had a clue.

Was an enjoyable meeting.

Klindt replacing the unlucky charles wright actually makes redcar stronger.

Craig Cook looked like the Craig Cook of old, the new dane looks a real prospect an was well worth more than 2 points. Jamie Erherington looked way out of his depth. Tate needs to sharpen up his starts.

R.E the track, this is where british speedway really shoots itself in the foot, it was dry all day and a suitable race surface should be prepared to last an evening meeting in that time, supporters should not have to watch tractor racing for over an hour on a cold night.

I think the track didnt help both sides last night and we were lucky we won as the comets were in the points a few times when they were going to score more points even though jody was unlucky in heat 2. we also need to look at the track as you could tell by the lads faces when they came down to the 1st bend it was not good so maybe that didnt help us either

Gen question to redcar fans, welcome back wright or stick with klint???

The way Charles was talking last night when he was interviewed, it sounds as though he’s going to be out for quite a while. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Klindt sees the season out with the bears.

A game of two halfs , to use an analogy….

First half is the reason the sport is dying, track issues due to incompetent track preparation and having to be told how to fix it by the previous track curator who left the role because of the owners ! Took an hour on a freezing evening to sort it without a-decent explanation to the crowd. We were viewing on the back straight, normally great viewing point, but dust was just too much after two races so had to move to the home straight instead.

After the tractor racing fiasco the second half of the meeting was much better with the close score and Comets getting in the groove and could have won the meeting if not for Vinnies loop when on a 5-1. Cook back to his best, Jeppesen very good.

Bears relied on Klindt and Allen saving the day with the rest inconsistent but did enough to win the meeting but probably not the bonus point.

overhall the diehards would have enjoyed it but went home feeling the cold and needing a hot shower whilst any newbies wont be coming back anytime soon. Redcar need better more consistent track preparation.

P.S. Parked on the public road this time, much safer for the car.

I think for the sake of the fans it would be great if the owners and the ex track curator could kiss and make up,the track used to produce very entertaining racing

From what I have been told that is NOT going to happen. He is very happy in his new role and no longer wishes to spend days on end doing track prep and he’s not the only one who’s had enough of the cantankerous owners and walked away from the club.

A shame as he has always been highly regarded on his work and it’s such a shame that what was one of the very best race tracks is being reduced to its current state.

A good track man is about as rare as a British Premiership Football Manager!
