Teromaafan
Just wondering how much longer Dickson will stick with Dan T at No.2. I know he has always liked a strong 1 & 2 pairing but this season the riders in these positions are the best two by some margin. The Lions can get away with this at home, but away the other partnerships are fragile. Everyone seems to think that the play off positions are nailed on with Lynn & Northampton missing out, but as things stand, the Lions look far from comfortable. Probably not. Harrison only had 3 also. I think 4 rides was probably right for him I must admit having gone through all the heats I am a bit curious as to what changes should have been made? Batch was riding well. The only one perhaps missed apart from. Lidsey in heat 13 would be heat 8 and frankly Jeppeson was unlikely to lower Dans T colours! NKI wasnt really great but not convinced he would have improved on what he got in those heats I also disagree with him being clueless at Ipswich a few weeks ago he was on it with the reserve changes etc and forced a last hear decider! He pestered his parents to come again, but speedway being speedway, we closed down at the height of summer and didn't have a meeting for weeks (sound familiar?). In the meantime he was taken to the football for his first match and now never misses a game and has no wish to return to the speedway. For us two, after following the Lions (and Long Eaton during the fallow years) home and away for 57 years, we got fed up with sitting watching nothing happening during endless breaks, whilst listening to a guy waffling on about Blackbird Road, which means nothing to potential new supporters. We've got 10 Grandchildren and have tried to introduce them to the sport i've loved for decades, but they all say the same thing, the racing is great, but the rest is boring and they have no interest in returning. I still love my speedway with a passion, but i'm not missing going if i'm honest. We'll still stream the meetings though. Sorry i almost forgot to mention the weekly treat at Leicester of listening to Glad all over by the Dave Clark Five, followed by Que Sera, Sera..... come on kids, sing along... Really, what football did he see in the height of summer? I ask because football season finishes early May and doesn’t start until mid August. I would say at the moment they are comfortable in the top 4 & have time to experiment with the riding order. They probably didn't expect Masters to have such a poor season, so no longer have an obvious number 5! I would possibly try out: 1. Douglas 2. Masters 3. Howarth 4. Morris 5.
