1 point more than their previous visit when Tigers were at full strength. Not sure it's that decent ?

I suppose as a fan we can all project what we want onto a scoreline / final result - I wasn’t there but a last heat 5-1 the other way makes it 47-43 which would give it all a very different discussion after / it was 43-35 after heat 13 so I’d describe that as being ‘in’ the meeting until the very latter stages.

hope it was good as we need good racing and close scorelines to help tempt fans either back or back for a second visit. Was the crowd any better with the offer?

But the same could be said of the R1 fixture which was 44-34 after heat 13, and a last heat 5-1 the other way would have made it 48-42.

The fact still remains that over 15 heats Ipswich only scored 1 point more than their previous visit, despite Sheffield running R/R for one of the best riders in the world.

That suggests to me that they performed worse than their previous visit.

As I said we can read into a result what we want to - it’s what fans do!

I was expecting to go down by 20+

Sheffield is a place where a string of 3 4 5 consecutive 1-5  heats can slip by very easily

Neither happened so I felt it was decent

That 1 extra point could be vital - no need for the super heat next time 😉
