So Kemp, Rushen or Howarth. Just goes to show how tight it is and that’s IF we could get Cairns as a 3 pointer at number 6! If Woryna doesn’t happen on 7.50, it’s almost impossible to get another heatleader in to support Doyle. Even if we retained Musielak to back up Doyle, that would leave 4.37 which also rules out Kemp, Howarth and Rushen! Really nobody out there on that figure. I've got the following GSA's from the SpeedwayGB site. Doyley 8.40 King 7.35 -> 7.17 after 2.5% Reduction Ellis 6.13 -> 5.98 after 2.5% Reduction Brennan 5.91 -> 5.76 after 2.5% Reduction Cairns 3.77 -> 3.00 after 25% Reduction after moving out of the Rising Star scheme. = 30.31 6.69 or 7.69 left depending on a 37.00 or 38.00 Limit. Woryna 7.50 fits in a 38.00 limit, But if it's 37.00 then we're talking about riders in the Janowski/Tungate mould who are on low GSA's with big potential to improve them much like Musielak from this season. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/p26_issue_23.pdf The last declaration has 8.62 for Doyley? Doyle 8.62 4.95 King 7.17 Brennan 5.76 Woryna 7.50 Cairns 3.00 RS Edited 1 hour ago by Aries

Kemp, Howarth and Rushen are all on GSA's under 4.95. Edited 1 hour ago by TTT

If Woryna doesn’t happen, we’re kind of buggered and King will be second heatleader.
TTT
If it's a 37.00 Limit and it's not possible to get Kemp or Rushen @ No.2 then I'm not sure the Woryna route is the right option as we'd likely have a very long tail. Best case scenario's imo. Team 1 1. J. Doyle 8.62 2. A. Ellis 5.98 3. D. King 7.17 4. T. Brennan 5.76 5. R. Tungate 6.42 or M. Janowski 6.06 6. W. Cairns 3.00 7. RS = 36.95 or 36.59 Team 2 1. J. Doyle 8.62 2. D. Kemp 4.92 or C. Rushen 4.74 3. D. King 7.17 4. T. Brennan 5.76 5. K. Woryna 7.50 6. W. Cairns 3.00 7. RS = 36.97 / 36.
Aries
I’ll take team two but with Howarth at 2. Just goes to show that if we don’t get Cairns at 6 on a 3 point average and have to go for someone with a higher GSA we’re even more buggered! Will be interesting to see how Belle Vue build if they try and fit both Kurtz and Bewley. You’re talking 17.78 just for those two! What's even worse is if we don't sign Cairns because we could be looking at King @ No.5 with a couple of riders out of their depth at reserve. With that scenario in-play, It makes the Cairns deal the top priority imo and whatever Belle Vue offer, Mayfield will have to keep upping the ante until the Aces give in even if it leaves less money to spend on the Witches engine room. I agree re Cairns which I mentioned in the post above yours. Trouble is we can’t compete against these chequebook clubs so we’ll no doubt lose that battle and he’ll stay where he is. 😉

I was going to put Howarth in but I assume he's at Leicester considering Morris is rumoured for Northampton and Kemp wouldn't fit with Douglas, Fricke, D. Thompson and Masters considering the No.6 has to be a minimum 3.00 Rider. As for Belle Vue I assume the plan would be Kurtz, Bewley, B. Cook, Zischke or Rushen + a 4.00 Pointer, Cairns and a RS. TBF Kemp can ride Foxhall very well so there is that. We saw how Rushen likes the NSS during the British final. Suits his style to an absolute T and he’d thrive there (Sorry Lynn). They’d be odds on favourites again if they look anything like that. Edit: Would leave Belle Vue 4.86 so would be after the same riders as us, Kemp and Howarth. What they are though, is almost like a charity given they take huge gambles on riders who may not have made it, like Bewley, Fricke, Ben Cook, Lidsey, Kurtz, etc and then single handedly nurture them into the riders they become later in their careers .. Then, for the greater good, they allow riders to leave so other teams can be competitive.. (Or something like that)...

TTT
If the Club does miss out on Cairns then is it too late to pull the plug on any deal for King considering all deals would be subject to approval?

He’s an issue on his average but I don’t want to keep going on about him as it’ll look like I have it in for him which I don’t at all. He was fabulous this year and done far better than I expected. He deserves his place really.

I'm very interested in Kemp purely due to the fact that the League will likely see the vast majority of Clubs have a weak tail or at worst very weak reserves. Kemp should be having a field day against the inexperienced riders whether they're new Rising Stars to the League or U21 Foreign Youngsters who haven't ridden a British track.

I'm keeping faith in Mayfield pulling off the Woryna deal because a 1-5 of Doyle, Kemp, King, Brennan and Woryna makes sense at this point going by rumours and projections in regards to other Clubs 1-5's. It even looks like a very well balanced 1-5 at first glance.
