Speedway forum access A season of both would surely give the highest return.

Nothing definite (that I know of), but at the last match, the announcer did mention talks were in progress, about keeping the same charity partner, and that Tigers 50/50 jackpot would roll over to next season, if not won.

Racin Jason 72
Are the return of the stock cars simply down to being able to now use the land behind the stadium for their pits ? I noticed on BSN the land is clear of solar panels now

Not sure if they are there or how much space they have taken, but the stock car promoters have said that they are having to work with limited pit space for the meeting on Tuesday. This is a test event with a view to a full return in 2027, but there are also plans to extend the available pit space if that happens. Not sure what Dean is implying about it possibly not being a good sign for Speedway if Stock Cars are back. They have run alongside each other previously so why not now ? Stock Cars would most likely run on a Sunday or occasional Monday, but probably no more than 4 or 5 times a year so it won't impact on Tigers being able to use the stadium. InTheDeepStuff
The downside to stock cars being back at Owlerton is damage they cause, it’s been seen before holes in the track after a stocks meeting and a couple of years back the fence damaged which was left to speedway promotion to repair. Also need then more people to help with the install/uninstall of the air fence which can just be left deflated when the stocks left the stadium and that’s been a struggle getting help in recent years

I not implying anything and when I first heard the stocks are back I thought great news for the speedway as it gaurentees the future of the stadium but i wondered if anyone had heard anything else about the stocks coming back Edited Sunday at 09:37 AM by THE DEAN MACHINE

Track issues work both ways when stock cars and speedway share a venue. The start line gets dug out by speedway bikes and creates a noticeable dip on the home straight. The home straight at Northampton is like a rollercoaster now compared to previous years. Kings Lynn is the only track I can think of where it doesn't seem to be an issue. THE DEAN MACHINE
Well the stocks were very successful at Sheffield last night with a crowd that dwarfs the speedway crowd, let’s hope the 2 sports can work along side each other like in previous years

I think a lot of people made the extra effort to support it in the hope that it would lead to more meetings there next season, and others went just in case it was the last chance !! The biggest problem for stock cars going forwards is going to be pit space. Although the power company that have leased the land are yet to start using it, I am led to believe that they flatly refused to let 'their land' be used by the stock cars, so the promoters had to limit the number of cars that could race and even then it was a tight squeeze and far from ideal. One suggestion I have heard is that as it is no longer deemed safe for spectators, the back straight terracing could be demolished and that area flattened off for stock car pits.

InTheDeepStuff
Think Brennan will be only change in top 5 unfortunately (replacing Rowe), needed a bigger broom to clear out a few who have no value with their average especially with poor away number
