The BSPL and Oxford knew Redcars predicament regarding lack of riders and still made them accept the date. You can’t blame riders, who are self employed, going where they get the best wage. The BSPL didn’t think of ‘protecting its asset base ‘ when it gave Poland the green light on prioritising race dates did it ?

Oxford caught between a rock and a hard place.

    Monday PL

    Tuesday away at Glasgow

Wednesday Chargers at home in a rearranged fixture

    Thursday PL

    Friday Scunthorpe vs Redcar

Saturday the dogs upset those who like racesuits by all wearing different race jackets.

I think we've had pretty much a full season at Oxford with the weeks without a home meeting only due to calloffs because of the weather.

He won the league with Oxford in 2001, didn’t he?

I loved that league winning Oxford team. I went Cowley a few times that season. I’m sure they were the first club in the UK to wear matching race suits; purple ones with yellow lining. Kings Lynn did something similar in 2000, but they were Wulf Sport outerwear; not kevlars.

Off the top of my head, I’ll try naming the line-up; Todd Wiltshire, Brian Andersen, Steve Johnston, Lucas Dryml, Leigh Adams, Ales Dryml and Andrew Appleton.

Pretty sure Rye House and Mildenhall had team racesuits in the 70s.

Rye House were sponsored by Alvima or Infradex. Looked very smart

Mildenhall had Gold leathers with black tiger stripes. Tassels on the arms too, if the memory ain't playing tricks.

In theory it should be his Prem ave converted, no need to keep his assessed Champ ave for next year.

But Adam Roynon signed for Plymouth on a 6.00 NL ave, didn't get a new NL ave and still kept that average for 2023 when signing for Edinburgh, instead of using his more up to date Champ ave converted?

As Fanny Craddock would say about making Gravy.

    It's all about consistency

But British rules hop about like a nervous frog with a rucksack full of Mexican jumping beans in the green channel.

But what again is madness is going by that a rider like Kenyan Rew could've come over, had half a dozen rides in the premier on a 4, completely been out of his depth and would be stuck now on a 6 point average in the championship if the 1.5 kicked in straight away

Luckily Kenyan has performed well all season.

Is Rew the only African rider in Europe nowadays ?

It seems to me that if mental health is to be treated in the same way as physical health then a 30 day ban for withholding services was not the way to go about things. If Cook is not riding because of mental health that is. If he was returning after a broken leg and kept pulling out of meetings because he wasn't fit I think the reaction would probably be the same, in that he shouldn't be back in the team until he's fit. I remember Lee Richardson getting quite a bit of stick when he first signed for Coventry because he had some kidney problem or something and kept declaring himself "fit" for meetings and then kept pulling out mid way through the meeting. Unfortunately in sport it's not like phoning into work and saying you're not going to be in today but you're letting your team mates and fans down if you're not able to complete the meeting. Maybe Cook feels obligated to turn out because of the team ethic in sport or that a facility may not be granted if he doesn't turn out, I don't know and as I've said before I don't really care, it's none of my business, obviously I wish him the best and a speedy recovery but what is my business is when I've paid my money for something and am not getting value for that money.

It's funny the different reactions to riders... Batchelor got absolutely slaughtered for not trying during the recent pairs meeting, I have seen exactly the same kind of attitude from Cook for Leicester, granted he wasn't pulling wheelies at the back but he was clearly not trying and pulling out of moves and pulling up at the back. Batch clearly didn't fancy the track and was obviously in fear of his safety

That track that TB feared for his safety on, according to you, was the same one Bomber set a new track record on.
