SR010.5(p) has been approved in a teams declared 1-7 at the start of the season but due to extenuating circumstances is not available, a facility may be granted, up to a maximum of 28 days, at the SCB Co-Ordinators discretion. In the NDL and NDT this only applies if the rider was in that teams 1-7 at the close of the previous season

Spot on Mick. I can remember being presented with photographs of tyre-marks on the grass behind the grandstand, followed by an invoice for 'rectification'.

Dan has remained as RS throughout the season. From 1st August he will return to No 7 Dan's final average for 2024 (assuming the rule remains unchanged) will dictate if he can remain as RS for 2025 (he will meet the age criteria) from SR 011.2.1 Rising Stars The criteria for Premiership Rising Stars is as follows: The age limit for Rising Stars for the 2024 season onwards is 23 years of age on the 1st of January of that year The Rider must have a Premiership League average of 4.00 or below from SR 011.3.1 Premiership League a) the top rider (by MA) must ride at #1 b) the 2nd to 5th riders (by MA) can ride in any position #2-#5. c) the Rising Star rider must ride at #7 unless they achieve an MA which permits them to be in the top 5 then the lowest MA rider must ride at #7

Sad news. John was a thrilling rider, I saw him many times at Peterborough when I was a youngster, scoring 18 point maximums for England for fun. Later when I was a Promoter John was always ready with advice and guidance - a true gentleman. He will be missed.

By your own admission, no rules were broken; so there was no ‘abuse of the rule book’. Whether the rules adequately deal with such a situation is a different matter. -

NeilWatson replied to szkocjasid's topic in National League Speedway
This isn’t a one-off adjustment, the seasonal points limit has been increased. NATIONAL Development League clubs have unanimously agreed to a slight increase to this season’s points limit. The mark had been set at 36 following the third tier’s AGM last November, but it has now been raised to 36.25. -

There is no conjecture. I have explained the situation, as a Peterborough Club Promoter at the time, you will not get anything more definitive.
-
Absolutely not. Peterborough Speedway would have raced on in the Championship in 2019 under Ged’s ownership if the sale of the Club to Keith Chapman hadn’t gone through. The Club was well run, profitable and successful and in no danger whatever.

Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23
NeilWatson replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There is no such rule, the minimum three ride rule applies to a rider and it is up to the team manager to allocate the RR rides and any reserve switches to the best advantage. -

Almost any ride! SR 012.4.4 f) A rider nominated as an AR may, at the Team Managers discretion, take any ride at any time in heats 1-14, apart from the protected riders position in heats 2 and 8. Whilst the minimum ride rule does not apply, the maximum number of rides is 7. -

SR 15.9 refers to the ban. SR 13.3 gives the NDLRC priority over higher fixtures. -
Peter was the NDL co-ordinator for many years. A lovely man, gentle and kind.

Oxford v Glasgow - Play Offs - 13 Sept

Once again, astute use of the rule book - that still doesn’t make it a false average. -

If a rider’s average is produced in accordance with the rules and approved by the BSPL it isn’t a false average. Astute team managing in my opinion.- 163 replies
