racers and royals 8,727 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) Big night on friday to see who finishes top in the regular season-Newcastle or Scunny ? Assuming Scunny get 3 points from glasgow match-newcastle need to draw at plymouth to finish above them. Chewbacca 653 Posted September 17, 2012 Depends how Lemon and Robson go. Both been off colour recently and being dug out the clarts by the second strings and having Ronan Keating at reserve.
dantodan 314 Posted September 17, 2012 Yeah the key to even greater success in the last few matches is for Robbo and Lemo to step it up a gear. We all know they can do it. As for the track it looked very good against Edinburgh but the paying punters like me did not have much to get excited about. The times were slower and there was precious little overtaking. Heat 15 apart when double L and Tully gave it stick way out wide. Wish I could make the very long trip to Plymouth to watch our lads win 50-

NJC71 388 Posted September 17, 2012 Not a great meeting. Lovely, smooth track but not a lot of passing. Tully highlighted this by making one good start and winning by a straight but not doing much else. At the moment our top two at Brough are Lindgren and Henry and again both were impressive. Ned offered good support, one poor ride apart which didn't seem to amuse George although he answered that in great style. Again some good rides from Robbo and Lemo but some average rides as well. How good would we have been this year had both been at their best, regardless of the Worrall injuries? On to Plymouth then with a draw or win needed to finish top. Ned should score well there at reserve against a very average home pair so the key will be having riders who can compete and take points from Barker, Fisher & Gathercole. Step forward Robbo & Lemo......
scarletrider 66 Posted September 17, 2012 Some interesting views and concerns about the two "veteran" riders in the Newcastle side, Yes they have both slipped a bit in their points scoring of late, but both have had some nasty knocks lately. So let's look at some facts. Based on total points scored in all matches this season .... both Lemon and Robson have passed the 300 pts, mark with Robbo clearly ahead. Next comes Lindgren who will join them in his next meeting. Then comes Henry, with Nedermark some way back despite recent big scores (from 6 or 7 rides) since going to reseve. (I havn't included the Worralls because of the number of meeting lost through injury). Robson is also the leading pts scorer away from home. So as a team they have done well in my book, and if the two "old fella's" are having a blip - well remember they have led the team in plenty of the earlier meetings! Good luck to the Diamonds for the run-in to the end of the season. "The Mackem"
Big Diamond 51 Posted September 17, 2012 Good win last night to give the team momentum with all the big meetings coming. Really hope we can get some silverware in at least one of the competitions.
