Bspa Meeting...

Recommended Posts

I think it means its a speedway that he is involved in and the position he holds is that of director.

Rather like any other company really!

As for moving forward I read that to be about tye evolution of the 'fastrack' and doubling up and the hint that in future the PL could adopt its own 'fastrack'

Oldtimer has a major problem with the term "Director of Speedway". In fact, he's brought this up so many times he's obviously scarily obsessed with it.

It's been explained to him on here why he was labelled with that title, but for some bizarre reason he just won't let it lie.

The title "Director of Speedway" was used in press releases because at the time Chris Louis took over the day to day running of the club, he didn't have his promoters licence and wasn't allowed to use the term "promoter/co-promoter".

He's now had his promoters licence for some years, but the "Director Of Speedway" tag has stuck with some media sources, although on the BSPA website in which I assume Oldtimer has taken his quote, they quite clearly state "Co-promoter" and not "Director Of Speedway" as this sad fool states in his post.

bacon sound like a thick cu t

He's taken the Mickey out of the AGM every year for several years now, and has cons up with some jolly funny stuff IMHO. The days of Fanzines in speedway have long since gone, and this forum us waaaaay too serious, so any attempt at humour needs to be appreciated.

Glad the PL has dropped the extra matches and the play-off mini-leagues. I wonder if there's any commitment to set dates for the LC semis & final? Also: by having play-off quarter-finals, these need to be staged in double-quick time so the top two teams aren't left hanging around.

The reduction of the Testicle Joker to just one pointless use per match proves what a pathetic rule it is - why bother at all?!

Obviously it's all a matter of semantics but giving yourself a cool title does not mean it actually means you do anything.

Director conjures up someone who is pushing the boundaries of the sport and moving it forward.

Speedway is not moving in any direction so Directors are superfluous to this sport.

Of course it can be argued that Nowhere is a direction but that would be just showing off.

I suppose nowadays everyone has to have a cool title such as 'waste management operative' instead of 'dustman' or 'Charlie Webster'

instead of 'Mad Woman In The Pits'.

Sadly the sport needs more than such window dressing and could really do with a 'Director For Getting The Sport Out Of it's Self

Inflicted Hole.'

Sadly this meeting shows none capable of that are forthcoming any time soon.

I stopped attending speedway mainly because they got rid of the yellow and black helmet.

Can't wait for next March now.

Happy days!

Perhaps people will come back if we use the internet, come the start of the season we should all send an advertising film out on Twitter and Facebook, with free tickets to be won etc ....... the Poles do some great short promotion films, about time the BSPA came up with something cool :-)

Our boys at Piratecast already have, and its absolutely brilliant. They should get permission from the powers that be to use it as a promotional tool. All clubs in the EL should be able to use one as a promotional tool.

Coventry did an advert and it was put on before films at the cinema, maybe they should've put it on you tube, twitter and Facebook too.
