Willowman 212 Posted September 14, 2016 ... Somerset only racing for pride.. And the PL Shield (see here).
Mad Max 216 Posted September 14, 2016 Somerset didn't have a problem accepting the booking with four guests, so why would it be a problem for peterborough, fact is they could pick guests more suited to the dale, given the fact peterborough need a result, Somerset only racing for pride. Was unaware of the fact Edinburgh could only race once a week, which is a pity. Thought I read somewhere last weekend only Glasgow of the 3 were considering accepting an offer to race. Think the issue is that Somerset can have guests whilst Peterborough would have to have a NL 3 pointer and probably Glasgow the same (don't know who is missing for them)
speed ace 64 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) And the PL Shield (see here). Oops, beg your pardon (all the more reason to wait till you have a your own 6/7 riders), the point that I was trying to make was out of the two peterborough should be the ones keen to get more meetings before the cut off date to ensure a place in the play offs after their desperate team reconstruction, but instead seem quite happy to sit back and hope other clubs results go the way that suits them.(which looks like happening now). cyclone 943 Posted September 14, 2016 Think the issue is that Somerset can have guests whilst Peterborough would have to have a NL 3 pointer and probably Glasgow the same (don't know who is missing for them) Can someone point out which overseas fixtures which do not qualify for normal guest facilities, that Peterborough riders are committed to this Friday? Last Friday, Erik Riss was present at Armadale and was able to ride in the Euro U-21 which started at 9pm at Lamothe, France, the next day. Pity that Peterborough were unable to arrange for Holub to do likewise last Friday, as he might have scored more than the one point scored by his NL replacement (which was in a ht 2 1- 5 btw) and turned a home defeat into victory
TheScotsman 2,483 Posted September 14, 2016 I see we have young Mr. Jorgensen as replacement for Erik Riss. Excellent if he keeps off the tapes! And Dan the Wee Man is pencilled in for a return. Brilliant news as long as he has properly recovered. Still a hellish tough meeting though. Also hope the Fish is recovering from his broken bones.

Mr Blobby 2,662 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) Line ups for Friday: Edinburgh 1. Sam Masters 2. Ryan Fisher 3. Thomas Jorgensen (G) 4. Mark Riss 5. Kevin Wolbert 6. Max Clegg 7. Dan Bewley Somerset 1. Ricky Wells (G) 2. Victor Palovaara (G) 3. Jake Allen 4. Paul Starke 5. Ludvig Lindgren (G) 6. Bradley Wilson-Dean 7. Nathan Stoneman (G) Just as well the match doesn't really mean anything as the guests the rebels have brought in make them stronger than their actual line up. It will be a close one but I think we will just edge it by 4. Edited September 14, 2016 by Mr Blobby

Max is no.6, Dan is no.7 (if fit) I am grateful that Somerset have filled the gap and give us the opportunity to see some Speedway on Friday, win or lose. Any team will pick the best guests they can for a particular track, and as Rebels absent riders have good averages, quite right to select first-rate replacements.
