Sheffield V Ipswich, 13-4-17 Championship @7-30pm

Recommended Posts

Nick Morris scores points for Poole while scoring points for another club in the same league, What an utter bore fest this sport is, throw british speedway on the bonfire this year and be done with it, if speedway were an animal the BSPA would be charged with cruelty for not having it put to sleep

Did Riss take two reserve rides and a r/r for Bates?

Reserves can take as many r/r rides as is necessary, so in theory could take 4 r/r rides.

Well done Sheffield didn't expect that margin

Loved the comment on updates at heat 15

So going by the fans table in the Speedway Star ...Workington to finish 10 !!!

Wake up SGB Championship (54-37 result Saturday) ...Workington Comets mean business

Great Performance and one that I did not see coming.

The started to come together when JPB held of Schlein to give us a 5-1 to take the lead and we never looked back after that.

All round team performance and vry special mention for Guest rider Mark Riss who was superb.

Upwards and Onwards for Tigers.

What a utter bore fest again... not even close 1st bends.. 12 out of15 races won within 10 yards

Crowd tonight was very poor and will be one man and his dog by June unless they try and get the track raceable.

This is currently worse than the Leicester track was and they nearly folded because the previous owner refused to deal with the issues..

Surely the riders don't enjoy following each other at high speed within a metre of air fence with no chance of racing?

Sheffield have been waiting for a delivery of new shale for weeks, but keep getting told that it will be a few weeks more. I believe there has been some flooding in the quarry, which is delaying deliveries.

One of the poorest meetings I have witnessed at Owlerton with passing almost impossible, which is a real shame as Sheffield used to be such a great race track.

I'd love to come up with answer for Sheffield. It used to be such a cool track. To race on. To watch.

Now it's just awful. What has happened? The one line you can use is an inch of the fence.

Is it the bikes? The track prep? Such a shame because the club promote themselves so well.

I don't believe that the bikes can deal with the amount of dirt we used to have, it makes them dangerous to ride

I think the promotion have to be commended on some things.

The slick presentation of both meetings over the last 2 weeks, prompt start getting on with the racing and getting it over and done with quickly trying to keep the momentum going. I think the idea of the free meeting seems to have attracted a few more through the gate as last night was certainly up there with some of the best gates of the last couple of seasons, maybe the start of the bank holiday weekend also helped.

Trouble is at the end of the day if the product is rubbish those people won't come back and to be honest there wasn't a quids worth of entertainment last night let alone 15 quids worth, Heeps coming up with about the only genuine pass of the night. Sheffield has turned into a gate and go track, which ultimately will lead to more boredom, more jumped starts and re runs more boredom and a lot less crowd.

Sheffield may win the league by a mile, but come September how many will be there to see it.

Also what is going on with the car park, half of it taken up for the casino, fair enough, but now it seems to have become and overflow car park for a showroom or car rental company??

Ipswich go missing on a proper race track.

Stick to gate and go.

Try reading the report from other people on here . Seems it was a gate and go track and it wasn't to the Witches liking so maybe your racers track on Monday will suit us a lot better.

Will you be in attendance on Monday or will you be under the guise of one of your many other alter alias.

i wasn't there i'll admit, but reading the updates doesn't sound like it was really anything other than gate and go at sheffield last night either...... one of the more exciting sounding heats from what the texter had written, was heat 9 whereby shlein was on a tactical ride - texter posted this to be a ding dong battle with kurtz cutting him off on the last bend...just seen the race on speedwaygb website and frankly schlein got close on the last lap but realistically kurtz had him covered the whole 4 laps from you've guessed it... the gate!!!

at least at foxhall chris louis has recognised the racing can be improved and this winter has for a second time in the last few years has undertaken major work to change the track shape in a bid to create more lines and therefore a better product to watch for the fans!!

The proper race track is what has gone missing

Ipswich lost the gating competition last night that's all

there were three races in which there was passing in one, all the excitement was down to Heeps last night

this track is awful, I will give it a couple more weeks to see if there is any improvement, even going back to last week wouldn't be so bad, and then we will take our money and find something better to do with it.

this is my 50th season watching speedway, with a few breaks, and with the team we have I thought it was going to a great season, but my worries about the track are being realised, shame but I am not paying to watch 14 half lap races and one with passing

I really wouldn't bother he's clearly a clueless berk who enjoys trolling.

8 points between King and Schlein? Don't think we'll see that again this year!

Not overly concerned we're far better than that.

Well done Sheffield.
