I agree with Steve, the team is mediocre, if they do win the league it will show how weak the league is, by by Chapman..

So, if the top of the table on a 11 match winning run is mediocre.

What is the one word you would use to describe the 4th place Pirates?

I think the point that he and others are making is that the whole league is a complete shambles.

Nothing to do with Swindon as the team is average don't hate I'm just be honest. The league has been an utter joke and Swindon have faced the right teams at the right times.

Facing us when the Poole riders are out of form. Facing KL when they had to sack Heat Leaders for Championship riders due to attitude problems. Rye House when KK had to be replaced by a NL rider. The list just goes on and on.

But Swindon can only beat what's in front of them and that's what they have done. Just goes to show how weak the league has become imo. Think Wolves will beat Swindon in the final if I'm being honest.

The Robins have raced you 4 times this season and on each occasion the Pirates were 'out of form'?

How unlucky is that?

How do you account for the rest of the season tho'? 🤔

It wasn't that long ago that people were saying Swindon were a 2 man team & had a long tail. The same riders have now found their feet & confidence & it shows.

Totally irrelevant. Speedway has been rubbish for a number of years and the problems that we see are seen every year.

In terms of quality, the teams are built to exactly the same points limit. The quality is significantly lower but all teams are exactly the same whether you build to 50 or 30 points.

To win 11 on the bounce irrespective of quality is a remarkable achievement given that a significant proportion of those wins have occurred without the one rider that is genuinely world class.

As Rye House fan who has see then twice live and on telly once they may not have "the names" of other Swindon teams but there seems to be a spirit that overcomes any adversity, so whether they are best I am not quailed to judge but it depends on your definition of "best"

They are a good team, nothing special other than that they have wildly exceeded expectations (particularly Bellego).

and the juggernaut rolls on... 11 on the bounce

now, we all know the league is what it is this season, but you an only race against what's put in front of you, sometimes without our talisman JD.

I think the heading 'Best of recent times' is a little misleading as we're clearly not that.

For Starman to say if we do win the league it shows how poor the league is is a bitter and twisted comment IMO.

Yes the league is weak if you look back over the last 15 - 20 years, however you dress it up, rules change year by year.

We've all adhered by these changes, some more so than others over the years ;)

We have now broken a club record or 11 consecutive wins.... 5 away wins with two of them over the pre-season favourites Poole & Belle Vue.

Massive kudos :t::t: to the team who at the start of the season were tipped by many to be cannon fodder.

Bring on 12 :D

Starman is a tw@t who never posts anything good about anyone but Poole. His jealously towards the new BV stadium is pathetic. Poole were the strongest team on paper by miles and have blown it. Simple as that.

I said at the the start of the season it was the worst Swindon team I've ever seen. Love being wrong!!

Swindon were effectively giving away 3 points to the other teams when they signed Doyle on 13.41 but now they sit top of the table with 10 straight wins? Which team comes close in recent years?

For me, not Coventry 2007 because they relied heavily on Olly Allen's R/R and Poole 2008 and Wolves 2009 benefitted from Holder and Woffinden stepping up on false averages, the exact opposite of Doyle's. Then there's the great Poole 2010 side, run away table toppers, but thrashed by Coventry in the final. Since then, much of a muchness.

So step forward Swindon 2017, the best of all!

Poole 2010 was the most dominant team we have seen (until it came to the play off final), topping the league with 78 points and finishing 17 points clear of the second team. They won all 16 home meetings but only 7 away. Swindon 2017 have already won 7 away and have won 11 matches consecutively.

Only because the bspa in its "wisdom" have continually weakened the teams.

... and as supporters we continue , I admit in dwindling numbers to pay to watch it ! Swindon are the most consistent team at the moment & are a joy to watch , It is a weaker league without its " Superstars " but if I was a Robins fan I don't think I would give a toss if I was being entertained week in week out !! ENJOY YOUR SPEEDWAY ..Not many are !!

Some great close racing in the league this year, very rare a team hits 60 points.

Regardless of the quality of riders.

For Swindon to thrash Poole and hit 56 both home and away and hammer Belle Vue in Manchester is remarkable, they rarely win in Dorset.

And they were sixth in the betting.

The Swindon steam train rolls on.
