Leicester V Rye House 12.08.17

Recommended Posts

Probably the correct conclusion as Chris and Scott in heat 15 looked a pretty formidable pairing and knowing his last heat appearances for the Bees he can usually be relied on. Just a shame it all went wrong, although I was too far away to see what exactly happened when he fell.

The incident was right in front of me, felt bomber tried just a little too hard, definitely carried too much speed into turn 3. No other choice I feel other than for the ref to exclude him.

Good last few heats made up for pretty pedestrian racing in the first half of the meeting anyways.

A good win for a sort of Lions team!

KK seems back to normal.

Oh you lot are bitter, the booing on Thursday was in complete contrast to the warm applause Kennett got at Rye House when he returned with Swindon (and with his 3 point away average for a no 1 probably deserved a different reaction).

Even allowing for Kasprzaks score last night we are delighted to have him, 5 away points in 72 hours is just fine and a great improvement on the rest of this season.

When Kasprzak made a clear gate in heat 6, with Nicholls behind him, he was fine, completely confident. However when Lions riders' were close enough to dive under him, you could see him back right off, not wanting to race. Strange one because I've seen him be dominant around Beaumont Park.

Sure he'll make enough gates for you to score plenty though.

So Pawel is riding in Poland today but couldn't ride in the UK yesterday?

Surely Rye House should put in a protest?

Leicester are cheats.

He rode and won 3 heats last sunday as well. No wish for any protests from last night, we lost move on.

But the commitment to British Speedway must be resolved next season, I understand the pay in Poland is sometimes 10 times that of British Speedway but if you wish to ride here YOU MUST DO, if you can earn more elsewhere good luck but don't use us for pocket money, bike and fitness testing.

As explained last night to fans and was also posted on here this morning.

Pawel is not able to fly with the surgery he has had due to a high risk of DVT and a blood clot.

There was not time to ride at Leicester and then be in Rybnik this afternoon by driving.

All irrelevant now if it's true he has had another big crash.

I enjoyed my visit to Leicester even though the result was not as I would of expected, think the track changes are working and it now looks a great speedway track with awesome viewing.

Please explain what you mean when you say this league is a lottery

Think a lot of this has been said already, but just seems this guest riders business due to doubling up in terms of the effect on the supposedly higher level league has gone too far. Injuries sadly you have to live with, and we've become used to international commitments and of course the Polish clubs problem seems to be gathering pace. Then you've no idea if the guests are going to be up to the job. Maybe it IS a Leicester thing and other Prem clubs have not been as badly effected.

Leicester have had more absences through doubling up than any other team (inevitable because they were so late in confirming their PL participation)

Leicester have also had more riders missing than any other team (bad luck and having Jason Garrity in the team!)

Leicester's current team has only two riders who don't double up and one of those missed this meeting injured but rode in Poland the week before and the day after.

Doubling up is one of the many nails in the coffin of British Speedway and at the moment it's being driven home hard.

Rye started the season with only 2 doubling up riders, now we have all bar Nicholls and KK.

Terrible result/performance losing to that "Leicester" side after beating Poole by 30.

Kasprzak 7 from 6 at reserve & Harris with 6 points have to take responsibility along with the choice of Jonasson. Has been crap this season in Sweden, probably never rode the Leicester track, crap scores in England since return & does he even have his own machinery over here yet? The promotion don't help themselves.

Hope the lost points don't cost at the end of the season.

Took in this meeting as part of a mini tour. Certainly an unusual venue, even when you are within a few hundred yards it's not obvious where the track is. I do like the fact that you can buy your admission ticket in the bar outside, great excuse for a pint (after several at the cricket earlier!)

The actual meeting wasn't great, not helped by the sun break after heat 1, although there were some good races towards the end to make up for a very processional start. Can't help feeling that they got things mighty wrong with the track design though, certainly not an easy place to pass! Josh Bates hugely impressive for the home side.

Summed up pretty well. Bit similar to Buxton where you wonder where the hell you are going before you spot the track. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Apparently the meeting starts at 8pm this week so that's a brilliant idea ~ bit of a parade and waffling about and the sun should be low enough to avoid any delay. Not sure if this is the plan now as the following match states 7.30pm start or if it's just because the City are playing at home at 3pm and giving more time for fans to attend both if they wish.
