7 home meetings a season with 8 teams in the league what we going to do for rest of the summer then ?

Polish fans don't seem to mind. Maybe they prefer quality over quantity?

and exactly how do you suggest clubs pay the rent for the weeks when they don't have a meeting. Landlords will not be happy to rent the stadia for a mere 7 or 8 weeks a year. But hey ho the top name riders will be happy so sod all the clubs that can't bow down to their demands.

Well it cant carry on like this season. R/R's and Guests galore all over the place.

Have Barbeques in the back garden on race night's.

Just kidding. See post below.

Brilliant. 7 whole home fixtures to get your teeth into.

Wouldn't that be amazing for the people that actually go to meetings?

Quality is better than quantity.

Would you rather see big name riders for 7 home fixtures a season

or

Would you rather see a patched up team consisting of Championship / NL riders for 14 home fixtures a season.

I would rather see big name riders going at it in most heats instead of watching riders who are out of their depth.

Imagine this.

Fixed Premiership race nights (Monday and Thursday) with no Championship fixtures taking place on those nights.

Each team meets each other once at home and once away instead of twice at home and twice away to try and tempt some big name riders back to the UK.

Scrap Cup fixtures as well.

Imagine this

No premiership matches on Thursdays.....................glad to see you take Ipswich and Sheffield into account!

It's no good comparing us to Poland. They don't have the stadium issues we have for a start. Going to your landlord and asking for the stadium 7 times a year isn't going to be met with a favorable response.

The Poles have got the best day of the week, apart from Saturday, boxed off. The minute they move away from a Sunday the crowds are cut in three.

There's so many reasons why we can't get to Poland's level.

Their league structure just fits in perfectly with the tiresome individual competitions which clutter up every weekend and meander on for round after pointless round.

Imagine this

No premiership matches on Thursdays.....................glad to see you take Ipswich and Sheffield into account!

And Redcar.

Weaken the Championship product then.

We cant have D/UP's anymore they are the problem.

Earlier this week.

BV used L. Bjerre as a guest because S. Worrall was riding for Newcastle

Newcastle used King as a guest because R. Lambert was riding for KL

Newcastle also used Newman as a guest for Robson because Robson was riding for Rye

Rye we're without Harris because he was riding for Peterborough

Peterborough used Schlein as a guest for J. Holder because Jack was riding for Poole

Poole used R/R for Starke because he was riding for Peterborough.

Wow you can read. Maybe they should just let the riders decide where they want to race on what day, isn't that what riders of your other team do?

Not sure the standard of rider compares to safety. Doyle even said in an interview on BT that in a GP series he knows which riders he can trust and ones he cant and that's the pinnacle of the sport. Agree with set race nights though but for me that's more about sorting the double up issue rather than having the better riders back.

he knows which ones he can bully and which ones he can't , that's why he wins races with the former in and loses the ones with the latter

Still we are brought back to the question of what happens to Sheffield, Ipswich and Redcar. They either have to join the top flight, or discard long established race nights and destroy their business.

The Championship must be in danger of collapse as it is what with Peterborough's self inflicted woes, Scunthorpe and Worky fighting for their lives and ownership issues at another club.

Why not go with Monday and Wednesday as no Championship club has these night's as their designated race night.

Could they not have held the Premiership riders Championship this Monday coming on BT Sport instead of holding it on a Saturday just before the Championship cut-off date (a night probably when the play-off contenders will be decided.

Cant see Mondays being a set night.

Will the top boys do Poland, England, Sweden, Denmark in that order.

No. Because Poland won't let them remember?

Easy solution. Let Second Division sides race on any day, but top league gets priority on riders.

Having riders like Morris, Harris, Cook and so on in the Championship is ridiculous anyway. If these sides want to have international standard riders then they should be in the top tier.

So we should continue with the complete and utter shambles of this season where there are not enough riders to sustain two leagues of largely similar standard without most of them riding in both leagues and countless fixture clashes where teams from both leagues have to resort guests to fill unavailable rider's slots? Just because a top foreign rider has suggested that it would be probably be a better idea for the leagues to have separate race nights, allowing the doubling up to continue without fixture clashes.

Classic speedway fan logic. Always blaming the tip of the iceberg, ignoring everything that has led to that point.

Not at all. ..

I don't blame Doyle or any top rider for the shambles that is British Speedway..

He/They have to do what is right for themselves..

The truth is the likes of Doyle have outgrown British Speedway and therefore British Speedway should just accept it and move on at a lower level without them..

One night a week, two nights a week, all set in stone, will be great but adding more GP stars to the Sports weekly wage bill won't be affordable...

It would be great to have Doyle, Lindgren, Holder, Tai, Greg, Emil, Nicki, Lindback, Kildemand, NKI, Magic, Zagar and the Pawlickis riding here every week..

But realistically who will pay them?

It won't be extra fans coming through the turnstiles, that ship has long sailed..

The Agenda for the Top Riders is a million miles away from what GB can deliver so let them move on with their careers and British Speedway try and salvage what's left of the Sport..

But this would be problematic for clubs visiting those that want to race on a thurs, as they would have to run without any d/u riders, where they might have changed their night to avoid the clashes and fitted in with the new system.

I don’t think it has to correlate to “injury” – it is possible the better riders take evasive action as a result of the talents of lesser riders.

I can't think of one rider who fits this priority tho, can you?

Can't say I've seen any lesser lights causing problems for riders of Doyle and Lindgren's quality.

To be perfectly honest, this season has been the worse of any I can remember. What Jason Doyle would like in reality, is of no importance. I cannot remember a year when I have been less interested than of late. and the main reason for this is that the sport has been ruined with Guests, R/R and DU's. I cant remember the last match I went to where both teams were at full strength.

With the exception of a handful of riders, both our leagues are of equal standard, each fighting the other for major importance. We haven't the numbers to run two leagues and the sooner this is sorted the sport will have a chance to improve.. Most of the Championship sides would easily compete with Premiership, which makes the two league idea a complete joke. Swindon has conquered all before them this year, and with the exception of Doyle most riders compete in the other division as well.

Decisions have to be made to benefit the sport, so for that reason alone, we have to do away with DU's and run one major league only. One rider - One club.. Split it into North and South sections if necessary but not to run in competition against each other. To me this is more important than running on specific nights...

Opinions will say the riders needs more meetings, I say they compete in too many meetings. We have riders at Lynn who are that busy that have problems fitting in Lynn fixtures... and when they do they're so tired they put up sub-standard performances That can't be any good for rider any or the fans ....
