Is It Finally Time For One League?
TigerIain replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It'll mess up their 2026 team building, they've already signed William Cairns and Cooper Rushen and I would assume both would be on the lowest grade (although there is still time for Cairns to improve enough to not be). Plus I could imagine a reluctance to major change as what Poole are doing now certainly brings in the crowds at home. -
The manner of the defeat from being 8 points up. The patched up opposition. The fact that their ‘Russian Rocket’ looked disinterested. That Doyle was being outgated, outmanoeuvred and outsmarted. That their second string/engine room is not up to par. That they have no high-scoring rising star. That their lord and saviour Hawkins is tactically inept - DT could/should have taken 7 rides. The only saving grace for Ipswich tonight was Thompson. He can hold his head up high.

Are the tapes not released by an automatic system nowadays?

Thompson most definitely should have taken another ride,he was your best rider tonight imo,and also Brennan was good.Doyle and Sayfutdinov were disappointing imo considering they are two of the top 6 riders in the league. They shouldn't be scoring as low as they did against a team with no real no1. Hats off to Lynn though, they never gave up.Obviously Kvech was our rider of the night,I have never see him gate so we'll as he did tonight.Klindt as expected should score well at home from reserve.Lawson also a couple of race wins and the fastest time of the night by over a second.Harris was poor he seemed to have trouble all night but got an all important 5-1 in ht12.Even though Scott scored 0 he never gave up and was always on the tail of the riders in 3rd. At the end of the day I think Lynn deserved the win. When a team comes consisting of Doyle and Sayfutdinov you expect that team to get more than 4 race winners.

In terms of a contest that's the best meeting I've seen at NSS this year. Zach Cook take a bow. Only win from the gate was his defeat of Fricke in heat 5 other than that did it the hard way, including facilitating Lidsey to get past Masters in his third ride. Then curb crawled in heat ,15 giving Fricke no opportunity to move of the inside which allowed Kurtz the freedom of the wife line to eventually overhaul Fricke. For a 16 year old Cairns is a not a small lad, other than the tall Kemp he must have been the heaviest rider on show. Wasn't quick enough to compete with anyone other than Thompson tho evening but didn't disgrace himself. Ref was holding the tapes too long at the start which led to the two tape exclusions. Zishcke showed a little more tonight, but Kemp was the star performer in the reserve berth gating really sharply in his first few rides. Bewley, Kurtz & Lidsey were a little off the boil didn't have answer for Fricke, fortunately for Belle Vue Douglas had a poor night by his usual NSS standards.

the poles have got 72, under 21 riders trying to qualify for under 21 final.!!! -
I totally agree that SJA is right to raise the issue that there will be creditors of the old trading company who will have lost out financially. I wonder if Comets fans who want to conveniently brush that under the carpet and move on would be as forgiving if they were owed money? Have a bit of sympathy for those who won't get a penny back of any monies they were owed. It's no wonder speedway in this country has reached a crisis point when so many questionable business practices are accepted as normal and acceptable!
