Last thing I was told was that McDiarmid concentrating on Championship only in UK for 2026 and Poland Ekstraliga (Fri/Sun) and U24 (Tues). Suppose things (and money) can change things though

Edinburgh Monarchs Vs Poole Pirates 29th May 2026

I present you exhibit A, when you’re on drugs. 😁 -
You literally couldn’t name a sport where the term “lives or dies on entertainment” is more fitting than speedway. It is the definition of an event sport. Crowds will dwindle? I’ll counter that with: the sport will die, never mind dwindle. Speedway is built on close racing, passing and even jeopardy. The saddest thing is one of the most entertaining meetings I’ve been at was at Wimborne Road for the 2004 World Cup final. The second saddest thing is the Fords know how to build a capable team. Yet, despite both of those facts, you continue to prepare a track for what I can only describe a sleeping tablet in speedway track form. Given the state of British speedway, all clubs must contribute to its survival. Poole aren’t and why is beyond me.

Edinburgh Monarchs Vs Poole Pirates 29th May 2026
Mr Blobby replied to Bitza's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The usuals starting earlier with the not keen on Armadale and not sure we’ll win. If you genuinely don’t think Poole will win tomorrow you’re on drugs. Tate huge upgrade on Bowes who would struggle to beat any of the NDL team as can’t get round the place compared to Tate who will be good for about 6 points. Top 5 should be pretty even but the Poole reserves will clean up no bother all all. -
Ooooooh you make me live..........

Just what I've been waiting for Everyone gone mad in the heat.....

Let's surmise WBD signed a 10 year contract with the FIM for ( i assume) promoting and showing the GP’s SWC, SON SON 2 and SGP 2 and SGP 3 which they did for 5 years before bailing out. What interests me is what agreement is now in place between them,( FIM) and Mayfield Sports and where does the TV output sit within that contract. I would doubt that the FIM would have agreed for the SGP’s, SWC and SON only to be shown on TV. What we don’t know and probably won’t find out is 1/ Are Mayfield Sports contracted to provide TV production for SON 2 , SGP 2 and SGP 3. 2/ are WBD ( HBO) contracted to show SON 2, SGP 2 and SGP 3 in addition to the GP’s and SWC/SON. If either are true then someone is breaking a contract.

I think getting to 35 points with that team last night was pretty good. Jack smith had spasm in his back after his first ride and really struggled all night ,if we had a full team I think we could have maybe hit 40 KJP has already ridden well in the meeting he rode there last year and has scored well away from home in every meeting and with the track being slick I think Mario would have given the reserves a run for their money, if you look at the scores we kept it close in the second half of the meeting once the riders kinda got a set up

Oxford Cheetahs v Edinburgh Monarchs 27/5/26 19:30
marko replied to NumberEight's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I watched it on catch up and after heat one I was tempted to turn it off right there but Oxford did make an effort to try and put it right and it did improve. Think the issue for them is if those small tanks on the back of a van is all they have then no wonder they had trouble getting water into the track during the day. -
Workington v Scunthorpe 30/05/26 Championship 6pm.

Weather looks a bit grim. With all the dry weather, a little bit of rain will turn it into a swimming pool. I wonder if they can hold a swimming meet instead? I bet batch has a mean doggie paddle. -
I dont blame him for not wanting to rush back. Travelling over 2.5 hours to sit and watch a guy spin around in circles on his tractor for longer than the racing went on. Quite embarrassing watching them come out every other heat to try fix the same issue.

Looking at the numbers Mitch fits with ease. As it stands; 1 more home & 2 away, it looks like Rushen will move to No2. 2H 2A & Scott (when fit) would also move to No6. Castagna/McDiarmid would be at No7. McDiarmid is definitely the best option out there for the 1/7 greensheets but is that to late for change?? If King's Lynn want to make changes, they'll need to be where Rushen & Scott remain reserves & currently, to do that is replacing Cook, Castagna & Scott & declaring Rushen as RS, the risk there is the replacements could be even worse. I can't see that happening, plus, the team starts to look in a lot of trouble if the reserves start making the main body of the team already, it's way to soon for them. It highlights there's something seriously wrong. King's Lynn look like they're in a rock n' a hard place right now. Either, accept our youngsters in the main body or a team rebuild, can't see the latter. On paper, this team should be strong but something just isn't happening. Gating? Speed? Team bonding?

That is all fair enough, but if Poole decide to race at a level lower than they really should be (and yes we know why they do) meaning they are a huge attraction for the best young riders and will more often than not are the best team in the league then you can't really complain about visiting teams being disappointing/a let down. You are inevitably going to clatter some sides, especially if they are injury hit. Its part of the deal. Winning is great and will keep people coming back to a point but eventually the lack of jeopardy will wear thin.
