GP line-up for 2026

Woffinden will do about three GPs. He'll be stone last in the standings and then will jack it in citing his injures from the season before. Picking him has really turned the sport into a complete mockery. It's either backhanders or some proper delusional people picking the wildcards. btw who does the picking? -

Disgusting. If Wroclaw's 2nd best rider nearly beat Zmarzlik, imagine what Wroclaw's best rider would do. I will be boycotting the GP series. -

The pits were already cluttered with ex-World Champions. Ove at 92 and a true legend was the only one worthy. Rickardsson and Hancock are just competing to be the most boring uncolourful 'colour man' on camera. And now we have another has been in the actual series. And there was a hope that Discovery taking a back seat could be a good thing. Downright disgusting to me. - Today

2025 Torun SON and SON 2
Rico replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'd suggest trying a GP at Wroclaw or Torun, vastly different from a Speedway of Nations and potentially a league meeting bonus on top. I don't think I've missed a GP in Torun, but as soon as this years calendar was announced it didn't take a second to rule out Torun for 2025 as SoN just doesn't do it for me. Hopefully back to normal service next year, or maybe even a return to a summer GP in Torun. -
I don’t think you can blame the gps. The sport had already been in decline for the decade before their introduction. What you blame is failure to move with the times in the uk.

Four Australians. What's the chance of a GP in Australia? (Zero I expect!) -
Don't disagree with any of that but the frustrating thing is if you look at the last world team cup when Poland pipped GB at the post the place was packed and the last four heats were out of the top drawer.

The Dan Thompson +1 vs Kemp is down to 4/5 now. Outscored him on both Ipswich visits to Leicester this season, Kemp probably riding better now and will have 5 rides but still you'd fancy Thompson who could end up with a couple of extra himself.

Drew Kemp Under 7 at even money Heat 2, potentially gets 3 points although I would say Dan T is fav to take the heat win Heat 7, Will he get a point? Possibly can hold off Ellis if he gates Heat 11, Cant see him beating any of Emil, Danny or Sam Heat 12, if he replaces Joe, but again still up against Dan T, so will do well to get a point Heat 14, 2 points at best and even if he beats both Witches, of which one will most likely be Dan T again In my opinion will have to ride extremely well to get 6 points at best By the same token also taking Dan Thompson +1 to outscore Drew also at even money

I think Fricke and Doyle are deserving of their places, Woffinden though is certainly a surprise call. On the plus side it suggests he's continuing to make good progress in his recovery from the injuries but it's a big gamble when nobody knows how he's going to perform when he does return. Maybe giving him one of the top substitute spots or the British GP wildcard would have been better. Hope he can prove everyone wrong though! -
Tonight is all about Dan Thompson for me because Ipswich are sitting ducks in the engine room imo. Ellis hasn't been good around Leicester this season, Danny King has had a fair share of stinkers around the place and Brennan's fitness has to be a worry after his big off in Poland last night. Leicester will fired up after missing out on the title last season. 48-42 or 49-41 is my prediction.

MMMmmm Ipswich rolling the dice with Tim Brennans fitness. Sadly I have seen it all go sour before ....... rider sufers reaction to injury in his first race and scores 0 0 0 0 Hope it doesn't turn out that way and we see a good competitive meeting on surely a Leicester track that has has full sunny October day to dry out ?

With entertainment value you could have argued for Nicki Pedersen for a wildcard
