Wether the plan was for a strong reserve or wether that happened because they couldn't find a top heat leader doesn't change the fact Lynn should have the top reserve in the league. Why wouldn't Lynn want to give an in-form rider as many races as possible? May not be necessary if the top 5 ride well, but I can't see how that can be considered desperation! Is it desperation when Belle Vue use Bewley & Kurtz in heat 15 or give them tac sub rides (replacing a reserve)? Of course not, just using their best riders as often as possible, just like Lynn would do! It is also possible Klindt would get extra rides even when the top 5 are doing their job, just because he's going better & getting extra rides, wouldn't automatically mean they are riding badly.

Statistically Poole's reserves are better than Berwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Plymouth & Redcar's. No surprise Oxford's reserves heavily outscored them, they look a fair bit better (on paper). Workington gaining a bonus point, Oxford doing the same in the BSN series & Oxford having the potential to do the same in the league, won't hurt Pirates play-off chances if they don't make the top 4, which doesn't look likely. Poole haven't lost to anyone else on aggregate. While Poole are not as dominant as they have been in recent years, they are still the team to beat imo.

Let’s see what he does this season then. -
Desperate move... Etheridge is averaging less for Workington than Voulas & Zishcke, Morris hasn't had a competitive ride for 2 years and was on the downward slope when he was suspended. It will make Tigers weaker I'm fairly confident of, but at least they're trying ..

For the second home match running Monarchs face a big name rider returning to the sport after some time out. And like Scott Nicholls, Nick Morris has always been comfortable riding Armadale and has been one of the top visiting riders to the West Lothian track. Will he hit the ground running or take some time to settle back. The betting must surely be on the latter given the amount of time he has not been riding. Bandits other recent signing, Jonas Jeppesen, makes his Armadale debut and it will be interesting to see how he takes to the tight confines of the track. So, with some question marks over the visitors and with the home side returning from a confidence boosting win at Scunthorpe, I'm going for a reasonably comfortable home win. Teams from Edinburgh website: Friday 1st August: Edinburgh Monarchs v Berwick Bandits (Championship), Armadale, 7:30pm STELLAR MONARCHS: Victor Palovaara, Paco Castagna (Capt.), Justin Sedgmen, Kye Thomson, Michael Palm Toft, Jonatan Grahn, Jordy Loftus. R.E.D. BANDITS: Nick Morris, Sam Hagon, Jonas Jeppesen, Drew Kemp, Peter Kildemand, Dayle Wood, Jack Smith.

How many years experience does Luke Killeen have in the championship now? And Francis Gusts has represented his country in the speedway of nations against the best riders in the world on more than one occasion I believe!!!! And you’re having a pop at a young British rider with less than ONE MONTHS experience of championship racing 😡😡…Very sad!! No wonder some of these promising young riders give up with supposed fans like you about!!!!!!!!

Felt a tad ashamed of being a Poole supporter tonight. We had such a superb crowd, just over 2,100 according the numbers given to the stewards. But my word, if I was some of them I wouldn’t come back. That track was awful. The dust from heat number one should’ve been a good sign to water it more but it took until half way through the meeting for someone to effectively p**s on it. And it did absolutely nothing too it. never mind the whole starting gate stuff as well. Not a good look tonight One positive, the addition of Lee from PirateCast to the announcing team this season is such a good move
