The passing at the NSS is a regular occurrence and I’m sorry, but you CAN get a bit blase with it. “Oh there’s another one” It’s such a big wide open track that a lot of the passes there are unimpressive. You can have an away rider going in to the bends mid track, and can get comfortably passed inside and out by both home riders without even getting close to each other. You don’t get anywhere near the amount of passing at some of the smaller technical tracks, like Eastbourne, Mildenhall etc, but when they do come , you can certainly get more of a wow moment and “how the hell did he manage that?” Ive seen riders make passes at those tracks that took huge skill, and huge b0llocks to squeeze around riders through gaps that didn’t even look possible to get through. Those moments when they come can produce more excitement than any routine pass in every heat at an NSS meeting. To just dismiss that as being inferior shows an elitist attitude and pure snobbery on your behalf. the NSS is also capable of wow moments of course. The British final wasn’t just one of the best races I’ve seen in recent years, it has to go down as one of the best races I’ve ever seen, period. But I wouldn’t want to watch my speedway exclusively from Belle Vue. I prefer a variety of Speedway on different tracks of different shapes and sizes.

It won't happen. If the biggest bike racing series in the world gets zero coverage, then how can you expect speedway to get any? Even the TT usually only appears in the press when a rider dies. It's been the same for as long as I can remember, it will never change.

Technically, Iversen doesn't have to have scored much more, because they are rolling averages, which also depend on the old score(s) dropped. There's only 0.7 between #1 and #6. But the only way Klindt can have seven rides is as per last night, when a couple of other riders are off form, so there's no benefit.

Kings Lynn really need a few other riders stepping up, we know Fricke will score more than he did last night, Kemp should at least get a few points this time . Masters and Douglas are stronger at Leicester rather than at Lynn. It's a big meeting for Bomber and Iversen. We know Klindt, Lawson and KVECH will score but the rest needs to chip to stand a chance.

Maybe he could have tried pushing wider on the third and fourth bends, but he's had plenty of injuries and, as a racer, Kerr I think has always been fair. At Foxhall he was getting abuse from some Ipswich fans for a hard ride against Dan Thompson ...

I've said it before, you can't fail to be impressed/excited when a newbie at Speedway, the sheer spectacle of it all live is brilliant... it's when these noobs start to become more regular and question why their top rider was missing the meeting to not ride elsewhere that the problems start. Well done to the Glads for showing some initiative though 👏

No it wasn't,never is.I have a Belle Vue and Sheffield one at home to use for a later date now,although the King's Lynn no1 and no6 will be different when they both come in August.I actually can't believe they didn't do a programme especially for the KO Cup final.

Agree that the program was a disappointment. Surely a cup final deserved a souvenir program. could have used an insert in next week's if it had to be used. always been a bugbear of mind anyway ..... But a cup final , come on!!!

I much prefer those "technical" tracks where riders can ride sideways into the bends, blocking the track almost completely, meaning the rider behind has to follow exactly the same line... With him then hoping the rider in front gets some extra grip and gets fired "right" towards the fence, meaning a pass may then take place... The anticipation of waiting for some passing after bend two, lap one, for sometimes 15 heats in a row is simply breathtaking... To be honest, I am not sure the promoters of Redcar, Worky, Glasgow, Scunthorpe and the NSS know how boring all the passing that takes place there can be.... Edit. Forgot to mention the blue groove that can also appear on the "technical" tracks. For me, that "Azure Blue" hue adds colour and excitement to the event given all the riders use their throttle skills to constantly ride over it, never moving off it, and all skillfully keeping the same distance apart from each other for the entire race.....

Visited Plymouth for the first time this season on Saturday. Very interesting to see what they have created and to chat to a few local fans. They have created "an EVENT" and brought in, I was told, some University kids to do social media on the Event Day and have turned it in to a Saturday Night out. They have developed it strikes me a combination of a bit of a Millwall " no one loves us we don't care" mentality amongst the usual Speedway Supporter base and a "this is great fun and we can interact and participate" type vibe for the many who seemed to be both newcomers to Speedway and far less interested in the result than in the excitement. You'd never have figured they were bottom of the League with their top Rider missing, it didn't matter. It was buzzy vibrant and exciting. The Racing wasn't great to a Speedway fan, but to the majority, the noise, the smell, the atmosphere and the interactions with riders was what sold the event and it seems Crowds are UP down there! Well done to all concerned.

The FACT with the Track is and always has been ACCESS TIME. The best TRACKMEN in the World cannot deliver a Race Track in a few hours per week with limited access to water and time to prepare it. I'm not defending the indefensible here but sometimes people need to understand the very strict timescales Brummies have ALWAYS had at this particular Stadium to understake track prep.

If every track was like Perry Barr, Speedway would have been finished in the UK years ago, you can sign almost any rider you care to mention if they can't race then what's the point ? the track has been a constant issue for years.
