German GP Landshut Saturday 2nd May
IainB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think they used to sponsor the whole series a few years back and they were very prominent with the branding on the fences and the start tarts etc. From Ai: Monster Energy did not stop sponsoring the FIM Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) series; rather, they shifted their partnership. After acting as the title/presenting sponsor, Monster Energy transitioned to being the "official energy drink partner" for the 2022 season. FIM Speedway +3 Following this, they further solidified their involvement by extending their partnership for three more seasons starting in 2023, specifically returning as the title sponsor for the FIM Speedway World Cup (SWC). WBD Sports +1 2012–2021: Monster Energy served as a major partner/presenting sponsor. 2022: Shifted to official energy drink partner. 2023–Present: Continued partnership and returned as SWC title sponsor. WBD Sports +2 They have remained actively involved in supporting the series and sponsoring individual SGP riders, such as Tai Woffinden, Fredrik Lindgren, Dan Bewley, and Jack Holder, at least through 2025 -

I thought they were quite involded last year when I was in Landshut. I was watching the pictures on the SGP facebook and noticed that their logo is not visible like it used to be. Riders have it yes, but not the series and not even the program for Landshut has it. -
That's a bit of a shock lol.

Joe Thompson or Dan Gilkes?

German GP Landshut Saturday 2nd May
IainB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
They haven't done for years... they stopped a number of years back and looked to be something like "the official drinks supplier" and sponsor a lot more individual riders. -
Mr Dickson must currently be sitting on the horns of a dilemma ... Joe Thompson's 28 day stint is coming or has come to an end and Dan Gilkes was at Leicester the other day having a practice. Does he bin off the steady Eddy Joe Thompson, who is currently 2nd only to Jason Edwards of the "Rising Stars" and must be said performing above and beyond anything we've ever seen from him before, albeit on his brother's engine... or does he choose to put, injury prone, Dan Gilkes back into the team? Decisions, decisions 🤔

It is a masculine Italian name, in the same way that Mikhail is an Eastern European version, or Miguel is South American. Believe it or not, a lot of our spellings are derived from original Latin or Hebrew. Castagna's name is Michele Paco Castagna - and he prefers to be known as Paco. -

Quite agree, I see these lads as a pairing and they have been equally impressive so far, very different styles but both so quick for their age and experience. Jody's ride in heat 4 was so mature and Cooper took responsibility in heat 14 to ensure at least a draw. As exciting as Fricke & Harris are another top end these two youngsters are the highlight so far for me and they have improved so much already in just a month. -
No messing about from me in 2026. No gifts in the 1st spread of the year. I aim to start and finish with " impossible spreads " all season, and i am pretty pleased with effort 1 !! R and R Bookmakers the worlds top Speedway Bookmakers !!! are pleased to announce the 2026 Beat the Bookie competition. This is the 14th year of the competition(where has the time gone !!) and again there is a prize for the winner. points for every GP 1st 20 2nd 18 3rd 16 4th 14 5th 12 6th 11 7th 10 8th 9 9th 8 10th 7 11th 6 12th 5 13th 4 14th 3 15th 2 16th 1 Positions 1st to 4th in the Final Meeting Classification will be according to the result of the Final (Heat 23). Positions 5th to 10th in the Final Meeting Classification will be according to the results from the Semi Finals (Heat 21 & 22). The 2 Riders who finish 2nd in each of the Semi Finals will be 5th and 6th in the Final Meeting Classification, with the higher ranked rider from Intermediate Classification 5th and the lower ranked rider 6th The 2 riders who finish .3rd in each of the semi finals will be 7th and 8th in the final meeting classification, with the highest rider from the intermediate classification 7th and the lower ranked rider 8th. The 2 riders who finish 4th in each of the semi finals will be 9th and 10th in the final meeting classification, with the highest rider from the intermediate classification 9th and the lower ranked rider 10th. Positions 11th to 18th will be according to the Intermediate Classification after 20 heats. The start amount is £600 - minimum bet per GP is £100 minimum bet per rider £50 The minimum bet doesn`t apply if total remaining is less than £100 - then all must be bet. THERE IS NO MAXIMUM BET IN 2026 Rules Each contestant MUST place bets in ALL the rounds -in the event of having no money left they are out of the competition All bets can be edited up to the advertised starting time of the meeting. If a rider is injured before a round starts then the bet is voided on that rider, or bets can be amended up to the meeting start time. If a rider starts a meeting but is injured and cannot continue THE BET STANDS but any points scored by the reserves count towards the injured riders score. If any rider is excluded for a starting offence the reserve points scored do not get added. To ensure fair play bets for the final round may be required to be PM`d to me instead of normal posting. If a meeting is called off at heat 16 then the spread will be adjusted to 4/5th`s of the original. If a meeting is called off at or after 20 heats the spreads stand. HOW TO PLAY One must bet on a rider to score MORE OR LESS than the spread-the HIGHER figure is taken for MORE bets and the LOWER for LESS bets-the mid between the two is what I expect them to score-and they add up to 146 which is the total points available in a GP Example Zmarzlik might have a spread of 15-17 for the 1st GP Player A might bet £100 HIGHER than 17) and he wins so would win (20-17)=3 X £100 = £300. If he finishes 4th he would lose (17-14)=3 X £100 = £300 Player B might bet £100 Lower than 15 and if he finished 8th(15-9 ) = 6X £100 would win £600. If he won the meeting he would lose(20-15) =5 X£100 = £500 A final message regarding the 2026 competition to you punters. M more value in 2026 U unique format from the no 1 Bookie G great prices S simply the best competition in world speedway

I like JK racecards but i`m not sure what Klaus is doing this season- i will ask him. In the meantime here is a blank GP racecard. It says Cardiff and there are 2 reserve names to alter but it will do the job perfectly for me in 2026 https://www.speedwayservice.at/images/racecards/2024/SGP2024-07.pdf

Too right.Im glad you said two young lads, all the attention seems to be on Cooper, but Jody Scott is just quietly going about his job and was equally as impressive last night. - Yesterday

Not a lot to work with 0.05 under the points limit, Etheridge is on a 3.00 so would have 3.05 Premiership average or converted 4.57 Championship average, can only see Mulford or Pijper as a replacement if they go down that path of an early replacement as sure they’ll give Luke Killeen more time before they look at the RS position
