  2. Absolutely ,unless they're about to sign the World U21 World Champion, Bartosz Zmarzlik or the best young British Speedway prospect then you'd milk it. I suppose it gets some people get excited though 😕 .
  3. With speedway on its arse at present would any club that signs him really want the possible publicity across the media especially if the nationals pick up on it?
  4. Would having 6 teams, with no lame ducks involved, bring back the possibility of salvaging a tv deal for 2026? The recent 7 team league, aided by the points limit, seemed to create a situation where two teams were basket cases almost from the start. 6 teams with the 37 point limit will hopefully produce better equilibrium. Last season it seemed like Louis and others strong-armed their needs through at the expense of creating two lame ducks, bully for them but it created a league that was a foregone conclusion soon after it began
  5. Luckily we dont care what opposing fans think. Brady will be here and 100% of aces fans will be very happy in deed. Happy new year
  6. No reason why he wouldnt be averaging 10.5 after those six matches.
  7. No. They went behind his back. Probably due tomorrow late payments
  8. Today
  9. Belle Vue definitely kept the best team rider in Bewley over Kurtz Kurtz may well be chasing individual glory again and like last season let his club side down which is understandable If I was a Belle Vue fan I wouldn’t want a number one who at the business end of the season doesn’t try
  10. You would think if the Cook rumour is true he would have had some serious conversations with Andrew about commitment. He would certainly be cheaper to employ than the last time he rode as his options are not great. But he has let so many teams down over the last few seasons would you gamble on him ? I still think he could be a top 10 rider in this league but its a big gamble.
  11. The "Superstars" riding over here didn't stop UK rider development... Nor did they implement "Guestfest after Guestfest" as an operating policy... Nor did they let "Doubling Up" evolve into a fundamental key part of the same operating policy .. The promoters chose to ignore UK rider development and instead brought over reserve/second string journeymen from overseas in great numbers. They could have had the "Superstars" and still had a joined up development programme for UK riders..
  12. Must be giving the big bombshell Douglas announcement a chance to reverberate before making any further announcements. I'm not a fan of hype, but it had all the impact of a pint of lukewarm, flat and poorly-kept beer, from both him and the club🤔
  13. No Speedway Star Download Today, 3rd Jan edition ? According to last weeks Speedway Star this weeks editions will be available on 31st Dec, Have e-mailed Speedway Star, No reply, Thanks
  14. Though one did miss a year or two after a further drugs ban. So was O.J. Simpson.
  15. Pickering on an 11.64 really is a bit silly IMO. Messes up the rest of your side. Unless you gamble on strengthening up once his average drops to a realistic figure after 6 ? meetings
  16. Have they chosen the team yet or still finalising it ? Can't understand what all this waiting around for signing announcements is meant to achieve. Just release the full team now if its already been decided.
  17. They paid whatever they paid to clear their names. Those that know the details - and you can always ask Paul Burbage as, AFAIK, he attended every day of the trial - know how and why the jury decided they were not guilty.
  18. Oxford 2026 seem to be signing up last years Glasgow side ?
  19. Cookie reminds me of a lesser talented version of Mike Lee, Mike was never the same on his comeback 1985 onwards could bang in 15 one week whilst putting in 50% effort and then struggle to get above six for the next three meeting whilst missing meetings he didn't fancy. Agreed Cook if his head is right could still more than do a job in this league but it really is last knockings for him to put a proper shift in if he decides to comeback.
  20. He doesn't need to be banned - clubs will have to make their own moral judgement as to whether to employ him Fans then can make the same personal judgement as to whether to attend a meeting he is involved in I for one would not part with a penny to attend any meeting where he was riding
  22. I seem to remember that now Triple H , Einar was pretty bad and how he didn't kill himself on the bike lord knows as he seemed to have a big smash every other week. I think that 15 point max got him over the six point average that was required at the time to come back the following year, me and my mate were hoping he would fall below six so Martin Rogers would be forced to go with someone new rather than the same old faces who fitted the budget but were generally 4-5 point men and none showing signs of getting better. Richard Knight used to be unbeatable when he came with Ippo but he turned into a seven point man at Lynn I think in hindsight it was just that we were so bad for 3-4 years we made Knighty look a lot better than he really was. I also remember Steve Redgeling starting to make progress then in one meeting (poss Oxford on a bank holiday) he was leading and both his front forks collapsed leading to one hell of a pile up, after that he never really went onto the next rung of the ladder which given the severity of the pile up was understandable.
  23. I’ve said it before that had your club and others said ‘we are not going to sign Crump Adams Pederson etc’ but invest in U.K. riders for the future of the sport’ there would have been an almighty outcry. That’s where alot of the Sky money went. The sad thing is that the majority of clubs had little to invest in and just wanted to keep it all going till so and so promoter had filled their boots and moved on.
  24. But wasn't this after the riders involved paid heavily to clear their names? That doesn't suggest they were not guilty to me.
  25. RS50 .... Team GB would indeed be a pool of mediocrity. Lambo and Bewdley the only 2 "top " grade UK riders . the rest Wooffy (if fit) Dick Lawson , Christopher Harris, Thomas Brennan, Addy Ellis, Charlie Wright, Louis Kerr ? Nearly as good as the Cricket Ashes mismatch
