Poole vs Glasgow KOC SF 1st leg 27/08/25

It was 50/50 to me. Need an angle from other side really. Leon can say what he wants but we can't see that unless standing by the 3rd bend. I'm assuming the ref being at top of the stand, she has more of a birds eye view? -

Re Flint exclusion. Flint lifted and this allowed Cook to charge under him entering the third bend. Flint was clearly not expecting Cook to come under him and lost it. Clear gap between them. Ref watched the replay several times and correctly excluded Flint. Watching in the main stand I don’t think a single spectator expected Cook to be excluded. Looked clear what happened. -

You could probably say that about most meetings, not a fan of Turnbull but no obvious mistakes from her in my opinion. -

Cracking meeting tonight played out in front of a big crowd. Track was excellent tonight. Plenty of dirt and well watered. No dust at all and no watering during the meeting. Lots of passing and brave riding. A few very tough first bends. No quarter given by either side. Lead could have been bigger if Kerr maintained his bikes to a decent standard. Crowd thought the same post meeting judging by the reaction to his excuses. Not good enough and needs to sort himself out for the end of the season. Not expecting him to. Starke is finally riding with a bit more urgency. Good to see. Cairns was excellent tonight until his last ride when he completely messed up his start. No criticism though as he is improving nicely. Thomsen very good. Rowe poor but he knows it. Lawson simply immense. Defying logic to be honest. A run of the mill ageing journeyman has turned into a superb number one and rarely has a duff ride. Serious top notch at Championship level and pretty good in the Premiership as well. For Glasgow Harris was excellent. Chased after Lawson and was his usual self. A bit unlucky in heat 15 with Howarth in third blocking any chance Harris had of chasing after Cook. Howarth was very fast, Dan Thompson solid. Bowes tried, as did Flint. The reserves tried and both perhaps deserved more. Fourteen point lead. Enough? Not sure with Nagels riding. But at least it will be a thriller. Just hope we get the opportunity to watch a stream. -
Seriously, I quite enjoyed the 85 season, the racing was pretty decent, the track was decent too, apart from the dust. We had a good team too. Then Joe had his accident. Poor guy, a career ended right in front of us. Awful. 86 was different though, I think they'd taken the bends in to try and limit the stock car damage, but it didn't really help. As far as the team was concerned, it seemed like every rider was named Ian Stead. 😏

Yes bad luck there, Flint lifted quite a bit going in to bend 3 and Zach shot past him, there was a big gap with Leon on the outside of the track, i think it unsettled him and he fell. -

That’s the problem it really was tonight we needed him . Nobody to blame but ourselves top rider and signing but has missed too many important meetings. Well done to Poole it can be overturned but it’s a big ask. -

Possibly also Anders Rowe is struggling atm which is a shame. Not sure why Flint fell off in 14 and Harris last again in 15 at Wimbourne. -

Poole have the best rider in the league as well which i think helps. Ice cold rarely ever makes mistakes. Can't see Glasgow coming back from this imo. -

Similar to how the meetind progressed when Monarchs were @ Poole earlier, inasmuch that we were also 2 pts up after 7 heats & then went down the pan 🤔 -

Not just that tbh. The fact that they left the inside of the grandstand in a diabolical state. All of the tvs ripped out, the bar stock moved out, rubbish all over the floor, ceiling tiles ripped out. We had a lot of people up with us on Monday and it was almost embarrassing that they were given hospitality in such poor conditions. I was wary of putting anything down anywhere in case the removal men took it! Ive been told since that they were not supposed to remove anything from Perry Barr until after Monday, but it was done out of sheer spite.
