  1. Past hour
  2. Still wouldn't be surprised if half the home meetings are run somewhere else until everything is signed off.
  3. Looking forward to Friday's match but Edinburgh Monarchs Academy captain Connor Coles is uppermost in our thoughts. A gofundme page has been set up for Connor and his family. 13. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/rowe-motor-oil-premiership/northampton-update-opening-home-meeting/ NORTHAMPTON Speedway can confirm tickets for their eagerly awaited opening home meeting are expected to go on sale next Tuesday evening at the earliest (April 28). The Foxes race for the first time at Northampton International Raceway on Thursday April 30 when they take on Ipswich in the Premiership Knockout Cup. The decision to delay ticket sales until 48 hours before the event has been taken because the club’s Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) track inspection is scheduled to take place next Tuesday. The venue must satisfy the requirements of this inspection, including a track test with four riders completing racing laps, in order to be signed off to stage a meeting. Since the announcement last month that speedway would be coming to Northampton this season, exceptional efforts have been made to complete the work required for the stadium to become dual-purpose, running speedway as well as its existing stock car use. This includes work on the stadium infrastructure, electrical upgrades and additional safety measures specific to speedway, and the track work itself is now complete. However, launching a new speedway venue in a very limited timeframe does bring its challenges, and there have also been unavoidable delays with the manufacture and delivery of other safety barriers essential to the running of speedway. This explains why the SCB inspection is scheduled for the week of the opening meeting, when the original anticipated timeline was for it to take place this week. We are very optimistic that we will be able to satisfy the SCB’s requirements by Tuesday; however, we feel it is prudent to not put tickets on sale until after we have received the green light, and we hope supporters will appreciate this move. We will communicate the outcome of the inspection as soon as possible, with an expectation that tickets will be on sale by Tuesday evening should we receive a positive verdict.
  14. Based on my 2025 world rankings (which include both his Torun and Pardubice high points) I had him at number 37 in the under 19 rider rankings just above Luke Harrison and Jody Scott (who are both a year younger). He's no Mitch McDiarmid (17th in under 19s), and he's not even the highest rated German (Tyler Haupt and Janek Konczak are the names to watch out for). On that basis I think a 4.00 average is a reasonable aspiration for Hausl, and given the need to settle in to a strange environment even that may be a challenge.
  15. Friday 24th April: Edinburgh Monarchs v Redcar Bears (Championship Knockout Cup quarter final 2nd leg), Armadale, 7:30pm) ROSS ECO TECHNOLOGIES MONARCHS: Dan Thompson, Jonatan Grahn, Justin Sedgmen, Paco Castagna (capt.), Kye Thomson, Mitch Cluff, Jordy Loftus. AGILIA BEARS: Nicolai Klindt, Ace Pijper, Jordan Jenkins, Jake Allen, Jason Edwards (capt.), Jake Mulford, Jody Scott. Can the Monarchs pull back a 12 point deficit? They'll need a contribution from reserve to do it. Hopefully giving Mitch Cluff as many practice laps as possible to get the hang of the track.
  16. Good gracious no ones aloud to watch. It’s all behind closed doors. Only able to see them ride away.😂
  17. Bit of both but the track was shocking. My lad was covered in dust after heat 1 and wasn't quiet about it 🤣 Plymouth barely made a gate all night and even if they made the jump the Oxford boys were generally away off bend 2. I think Oxford will be very tough to beat at home with that top 5, they were very, very good and the current form of Wood at reserve is a massive bonus, thought he was very good value and rode far better than his average. For Plymouth, King was solid enough, Nicholls went from terrible to brilliant after the interval, clearly having mechanical challenges but was far better in 13 and 15. Klima did quite well on his first visit, struggled in heat 2 but then showed some decent speed, needed to get off the white line though. The Slovenian lad looked alright in his first ride, gated but got a bit beaten up and ended up falling, after that was nowhere. Barker was poor bar one ride, Thompson deserved a little more for his efforts and sadly Spencer was way way off it and must be replaced. On last nights showing, I think Glasgow tomorrow could be a bit of a hammering, hope I'm wrong.
  18. I am a patient man but there's still nothing about tickets on the Foxes website, a week out from the first meeting. I've also seen zero local publicity. Concerning but not fatal.
  19. Sounds shocking, I saw last weeks match and accepted it was down to the forecast but no excuse this week, I’m no track curator but next year will be my 40th of watching speedway and know on dry windy days you have to be on the track at the crack of dawn getting water into it and carrying that throughout the day, it’s not acceptable to have conditions like that every week, will the ref be mentioning it in his report? Will Phil Morris act on it?
  20. Be interesting to see if tonight's track prep is vastly different to 2 weeks ago
  21. Lastest episode of the Pride of the East Podcast including a chat with Cooper Rushen: Apologies for the sound quality my end, was trying out a new headset and suffice to say I'll be going back to the usual one next week!
