  1. Past hour
  2. What, space amongst all the dust?
  3. Like was pointed out he had illness towards end of season. Not a signing many Bandits fans would be expecting ( including me)but here’s hoping he has a good season.
  4. Before the BSPL come out of there meeting and say "its all ok and we have sorted out a long term plan" (which basically means we have added a bit of filler and painted over the cracks) they need to stop and realise a bit of filler and paint is to late as the bloody door has now fell off all together. There is talk about a 5 team premiership (maybe even 3) so lets be honest how many supporters are going to keep going to watch the same teams every two weeks, unless they are going to run less and have monthly meetings in which case instead of attracting more supporters by the end of the season you will have attracted less just leaving the die hard support still attending. And what is the incentive for a Championship club to step up into the Premiership? Any club will be welcomed with open arms that's true but at the same time I get the impression that they would be told or advised to "toe the line" and learn how we do things in the big league, further adding "we may not do it right but we do it our way" For me the Championship has got the right idea, they are team building for 2026 and letting the premiership get on with things as I think they like me can see the total collapse of the premier league happening very soon unless something drastic takes place like a small European League to boost teams in it. Whatever mighty decisions are taking place the result from the annual AGM in January will be interesting to say the least.
  5. It wouldn't surprise me. I reckon the team will be Sam Masters Anders Rowe Mitchell McDiarmid Luke Killeen Cameron Heeps Dan Gilkes Darryl Ritchings
  6. You will find out at 7pm tonight 😜
  7. Since WH Smith has become TG Jones it has started selling Speedway Star in my local branch (Folkestone) as I noticed it when I was out to the Post Office today. I always see the Speedway Star in Sainsbury's as well every week, but apart from a quick browse it never seems worth buying as there isn't anything in it that is really of any substance. It seems that the journalists are too afraid to write anything that might upset someone. I did enjoy some of the "winter" pieces that they have, especially when it comes to the technical side or machinery to be fair, but it's all few and far between and most of it is just rehashed from years ago.
  8. Today
  9. But I suspect the rest of the team was initially signed to leave a Drew Kemp (7.88) sized gap?
  10. You make some very good points, I agree with a lot of your ideas. What the BSPL need to do now, is change all the negatives into a positive and have a total reset. Own up for once, say the structure is not working but we will go with what we have in 26 but the structure will change in 27. Now, if that's two leagues with the NDL included or if they want 3 with top riders then they will need to make it financially viable I would go with one top league followed up with a National league to bring the youth on. if clubs can't affford the GP stars or they won't ride for what is offered, then so be it. The sport needs a total reset in the UK, step back to move forward.
  11. Another one of these fake news spreaders, stop insinuating stuff and trying to make out that somehow it’s his fault.
  12. do you not understand ? hes on a inflated reserve avrg and in the main body thats risk . Duh
  13. Your point being? You can build a team lots of different ways.
  14. But there aren’t many riders available on a similar average?
  15. He was fantastic at reserve and that’s why his average is what it is, as I said he averaged 5.91 when at number 1 which is far more comparable for me as he’ll be stating the season in the main body. Theres a reason Edinburgh have chosen Sedgy and probably Paco over bringing him back. If he proves me wrong fair play but it wouldn’t be me taking a punt on him.
  16. Not many options left for Drew if he doesn’t want a Sat track. Scunthorpe, Oxford or Poole?
  17. 1. No he hasn’t, so stop making things up. 2. Who has blamed the promotion? All anyone is said is they’re surprised he’s not back.
  18. Hook has had one good season in the 4 he's been in the UK. This season he averaged nearly 2.5 points a meeting in heat 2, and he wouldn't get that opportunity next season. They probably thought he wouldn't continue improving riding in the 1-5. Foord had ridden half a season in the Championship before 2025 and Zischke clearly has way more potential than Hook. It's rubbish for Hook, but you can easily see why they've done it.
  19. Yes it’s a shame for the lad and I hope he gets a team place somewhere, but it shows the promotion aren’t afraid to make the hard decisions. If you compare to Etheridge, who is on a lower team building average, he rode in the middle order all season and is proven there. Jye actually averaged 7.82 at home (inc bonus) so proves how already valuable he is riding at No.4.
  20. All I am saying is that the promotion can’t be held to ransom and I believe there was some of this financially and living arrangements.
  21. Just for a bit of fun while we await our last 3 riders. IF Rushen & Cook signed would leave 4.87. Noticed on the 2 POL sites last 2 days that Slater Lightcap - 20yr old American has signed for Falubaz for their U24 squad along with Cairns for 2026. Going to be based in POL. He did some testing in POL in 25 and came over here for a short trip in 2025 doing some practice at Sheffield & Glasgow. Seems rated by Hancock and has improved steadily over the last 2/3 seasons in USA. Not having raced in Europe Lges would assume would be on a GSA of 4. Knowing Middlo normally has accommodation available, maybe not beyond the realm of possibilities maybe as the likes of Bowes did POL (2 Lges) - Swe & UK in 2025. The POL U24 race normally on Tue. Anyway just a thought and maybe worth above a 4 in the Champ if he is improving.
  22. Think reason Drew not apparently riding for us is due to Berwick being a Saturday track with all his new ventures abroad
  23. Hold on, are you insinuating that Jacob Hook has proved himself out of a space with Workington, the lad who lived in a supporters house all season? Rather than the promotion just deciding to go for Etheridge and Zischke on similar averages, which is of course fine, but it does make a mockery of the sport. If Hook didn’t improve, he’d be signed, just like Zischke, Foord, and I’m sure two of Etheridge, Voulas and Batchelor too.
  24. Does Klima count as a strong reserve ? also not sure you can suprise teams if you have Danny king and Scott Nicholls as your 1 and 5.
  25. As we limp through the 2026 season, there should be putting a plan set in place to improve the sport and hopefully put it on a firmer footing. Ideas to look at include building relationships with the local councils to help secure a new fit for purpose stadium or improvements to the current location. Build or improve tracks to provide the level of entertainment demanded by modern audiences with the Glasgow ethos of racing being the key. Meetings need to be run on a tighter timeline with 9.00 as the finishing target. Grading breaks need to be short and at standard times every meeting. In the down time have something to engage the fans with rider interviews ( preferably on a big screen with replays and scores throughout), games for the kids and a mascot to provide some fun and free sweets. A chance to hear from and meet the riders after the meeting would be good to help build relationships. Running a junior team and U16 meetings should be mandatory to help bring on the next generation. We might even unearth some GB FIM medal winners. Engaging with the local community via youth groups plus attracting families via social media is something to look at and bringing in sponsors, the kind who would look beyond the local and possibly back a UK Grand Prix. Lastly riders need to be looked after by being paid on time and backed when times are tough to help build that bond between rider and club/fans. All not easy to do I know but with the right people it could be achieved. Chris Louis would be the ideal choice to push this through or Stewart Dickson at Leicester. Bates would have been good before deciding to move on and of course Buster could get things done as he has done in the past. There could even be candidates from the lower division with the drive to see this done.
