  1. I'm not pedantic enough to pick a handful of riders and the odd isolated incident like Bewley. Please accept doubling up is here to stay like the rest of us have, albeit reluctantly. As Tsunami says, the fun will begin when teams have to change race nights, but for the future of the sport they'll have two choices, change division or change race night. I rarely go on the 1st division section (too many idiots and trolls for my liking), but if the 1st Division does go Monday / Thursday, then will Somerset, Leicester, Poole and Belle Vue be happy? I doubt Rye will care, they hardly ever rode on a Saturday anyway. The sooner we know what's going on, the better.
  2. Some valid points. But promoters want cheap, but everyone in the sport knows something has got to change. The reason why fans hate doubling up is when they lose one of their riders to another side, this will stop when the leagues ride on different nights. So can we just accept it's here to stay, but it won't be a problem anymore as my club won't lose a rider, and nor will yours. The problems will only arise if the clubs can't decide on what nights to use for each division, I can see some fun and games on that score.
  3. Doubling up/down is here to stay. The riders want it, and the promoters want it. If you get rid of it, the riders will want more money that the promoters can't afford. None of us like it, but fans would hate 5 man teams too.

    Betting For Whole Season

Well, those of us that backed Wolves are a bit happier now. Let's face it, not many of us saw that coming.
  5. Nice to see cheats don't prosper, well done young Nathan.

    Betting For Whole Season

Like a few others, I'd backed Wolves to win the thing, this time last week I was very confident. Never mind, couldn't legislate for Rohan (throttle open, brains out) Tungate and Freddie's unfortunate crash. Had a nibble on Rory and Bomber on the over with Bet365.
  7. No way doubling up can be scaled back, not enough riders about. So the top 2 divisions must ride on separate nights. Fixture coordinator that has total power to tell teams it's better to ride with one rider missing in June/July, than have hardly any fans watching a pointless meeting on a cold wet October night. No more of this 3 choices nonsense, this is when you riding, get over it!!!! Most other things I want cost money, so pointless typing those, if the BSPA wouldn't spend a penny on the future of the sport when Sky were giving them a wedge, no way they can spend any now.

    Ipswich 2018

After years of diluting and screwing up almost all aspects of the sport, the BSPA now have no choice but to change things. So Monday / Thursday for the top Division is almost inevitable. So Ippo, Sheffield and Redcar will have two choices, go up or change race night. With no TV money next year, the top division will be somewhere between the two divisions were this year, so not much more expense, and probably more financially viable than changing nights.
  9. I never blame the ref for 3rd bend incidents at Foxhall, I use to stand on the 3rd bend and always complained about the decisions, until I sat in the refs box one night and realised what an awful view he had.
  10. Well done Sheffield, hopefully the cup semi will be closer. But that will mean Danny getting back to his best.
  11. Nobody likes to use guests, sometimes they make you stronger, sometimes weaker. But just when you think you've got a chance of winning the biggest meeting of the season, the opposition come out with a guest who will probably score more than the bloke he's replacing. We Ipswich fans aren't moaning about it, we're just stating the facts. Mark Riss and Mason Campton have made us stronger recently, but I'm sure most will understand, it makes us a bit peed off that our local hero is probably the one to stop us having a chance to win the play offs. Never mind, as I said earlier, Sheffield won the league fair and square.
  12. If we had won the league then lost the play offs due to injuries, I'd be gutted. But Sheffield got a full strength side together when it mattered and won the league fair and square. I honestly felt this side would do it this year, but once we lost Nico and couldn't replace with someone as good, that was it. But well done for finishing 2nd. Let's hope we can get closer to Sheffield up there in the cup.
  13. Best case scenario Rory and Danny = 24 Kyle and Cam = 16 Connor's replacement =1 that leaves Nathan getting 12 from 7. Looking at the updates last night he was gating very well, do this at home and you'd expect him to hold on. Then we win the run off. Are these realistic? Or has that knock on the head sent me doolally? Now we hope that Josh G is fit, as I'm sure they can find a better replacement around our place.

    Ipswich 2017

The only queue at Foxhall is for the concessions turnstile, certainly an old peoples sport these days.
  15. Typical, I said to the missus if it's 10-12 points down I'll go Saturday, if it's 18 or more I won't, just knew it would be somewhere in the middle. Not beyond the realms of possibility, but the thought of Sheffield starting well and finishing it off before 8pm doesn't appeal. But if the ever pessimistic Balders believes we can do it, then we must have faith.
  16. Biggest meeting for both clubs, but we're just talking about it in a couple of other threads. Come on you Witches, try to keep it close so we can have a good night Saturday.
  17. I'm sure we all know the answer to that, a little competition called the Champions league.
  18. BT aren't really in a position to call the shots, the BSPA are paying them to show it, so they'll just have to change their schedule a bit. Next Monday is best solution then get rid of that relegation nonsense.
  19. Surely BV will call this off, this last thing they want is to get within 10-12 points then have to curtail the meeting. As this sport is so crooked I'm sure they'll do what suits them. But we can't have a situation where it's getting close after heat 10 and then one side play the health and safety card. Call it off now!!!!!! But if the rain is coming in, then the team leading will go through the tapes instead of switching a reserve, rider in last place after first lap falls down and pretends he's injured, lots of ways to cheat and drag it out.

I was under the impression that they preferred weekend racing to allow fans to get there comfortably. But those that have been this season tell me the place is almost deserted, so they might as well try another midweek night.

    Redcar 2018

If (as is widely being touted) the 1st division goes Monday / Thursday next season, what night would Redcar ride? Do Redcar fans have a preference, as we've seen and heard from Scunthorpe, you can't please everyone.

    Pirates Next Season

On a properly moderated forum one of the threads would have been locked, but this forum doesn't appear to have much in the way of moderation.
  23. Surely they aren't serious about this joke. If we go Monday / Thursday next season in the top division then the chances are that Ipswich and Sheffield might go up, would be pure Speedway gold if Leicester win the play off, but they go down as they want to stay Saturdays and the losers go up. Leicester would have to find guests for King and Newman in the unlikely event that Ipswich beat Sheffield.

    Ipswich 2017

Good point, but that was then, this is now. They are flying with a full strength side at the moment, if we had Nico and a fully fit Cam then maybe. But we'll need everything going in our favour to get close to them on Thursday.

    British Speedway 2018

That's good news, but certainly completely different to what they were saying when they dropped down. I appreciate Friday traffic is usually worse than the rest of the week, but a lot of people just don't want to hit the M25 any day of the week and hope for the best.
