Workington V Scunthorpe 05/08/17 7:00pm Champ.

Genuine question for anybody that has met Sarge, is he thick? He was the same at Ipswich, no referee will ever let him get away with a decent start with his reputation, so why cant he just keep still? Surely however thick he might be, somebody must have had a word and explained how much money he must be losing by all these exclusions. -
Totally agree Balders. After that five hour fiasco a few years ago I vowed NEVER to go to the EOES again, and NEVER to go to a BSPA event again, If however the pairs is arranged for Belle Vue on a good date for me, I might break my rule for the 2nd one.

The talk on here recently has been how Glasgow will pick Edinburgh in the play offs, looks like that was premature, can we assume Sheffield will also pick the Monarchs if they keep this form up? -

Only 4 meetings left for us at home now, plus cup and play offs late in September/October. That's what happens when you have a glorious Summer. Just think, we could almost run a May-September season if it wasn't for all those blinkin Northerners getting meetings called off all the time. -

Nice to see Danny and Rory back to their best after last week's blip. The rest of the lads did what was expected, so all round an acceptable evening. Track was too smooth again for my liking, quite a few passes but all predictable when certain riders did their Risager impression. Another very healthy crowd, so thankfully (as expected) what happened at the weekend didn't bother anyone. Hopefully Kyle is ok, any news? -

Getting a visa is easier than it used to be from memory. Fill in form online, print it off, take it down there, give them your fingerprints, give them some dosh (£118) and they return it a few days later. I'm sure i recall wasting a few hours here or there years ago. Invite £16 Visa £118 Flight £289 (£189 when i first looked months ago) Let's hope it's worth it. -
Was Jordan Jenkins part of the equation? He would have been 16 by the time we were due to ride our next meeting but would have still been 15 on deadline day.
-
Amazed no names mentioned as to who the riders were, but who cares now? (Ok, we all do really) I know most of those saying "I hope Sedgy goes 000" are P'boro fans, but those in the real World realise he has to pull his finger out and get some decent scores. He hasn't been booted out of other clubs for no reason. I don't know what he is capable of, but we need him to score like a decent 2nd string, and I'm sure he will.

Thanks

I know nothing about the rules. But reading what you lot have said, wouldn't it be sensible to replace one rider one day, then the other one 2 days later. Or does rule 15, section 13B, sub section 47K not allow this?

Can't think of many jobs where you get sacked without being guilty of gross misconduct, or you persistently cock up, Sedgy wasn't brilliant but he wasn't awful either. He only had one meeting for RH,and at 9pm on Thursday he was heading for 8+2, not many people get sacked for a silly mistake, I'm no Sedgy fan, but to lose 2 jobs in 3 days sucks.

I'm sure bruv and other ippo fans will remember what happened a few years ago. We had a free Thursday in August and were very keen to ride, we had Edinburgh waiting in the KO cup, they were free that evening, not much doubling up in those days, but they flatly refused to come and nothing was done about it.Not too sure if I've got my years right, but I think this was the season we ended up riding Newcastle in the final on a Saturday with our smallest crowd of the season due to be fact it snowed around two hours before the meeting. -

Spot on there MD, I've been whinging for years there should be a fixtures coordinator, but they know best, strange how we get to this situation every season though. They'll probably wait until September then realise something doesn't add up. I would mention how many meetings Workington have still got to sort out, but their website doesn't help that much. -

I reckon it'll be a case of a bit of nostalgia for us of a certain age. Just had another look at the fixture list, no realistic chance of this going ahead until October. Driving to Belle Vue in October for a big meeting, those were the days. -

No need for tactics last night, we went from 8 up to 12 up with a 5-1, so anyone wanting us to use tactics would have got it wrong, we gained 4 points then lost 3. -

This weekend should be make or break for them, a difficult home meeting followed by an away meeting they should win if they've got any play off hopes. -

I was looking forward to coming on here half way through heat 14 and praising Sedgy for 8 paid 10, but that was a shocking mistake by our former (some hope) No4. Track was poor last night, far too slick and smooth, but I suppose with the forecast they couldn't make it too grippy. Obviously the main blame will be pointed at Sedgy, but we also blew it in heat 13, we gated on a 4-2 and somehow lost it. I can understand Erik going past Rory, he looked slow all night, by I don't expect our captain to be beaten from behind on a track where it was almost impossible to overtake. Real table. Glasgow +21 Sheffield +16 Ipswich +11 Edinburgh +11 Forget the rest (at the moment). Now the good bit, even with the long interval for the whip round, I was still home by 9-30. -

Cookie, you give the impression that you deserve special treatment when you attend Foxhall, wasn't the red carpet wide enough? Or have I read all the posts totally the wrong way? -

Looking at the fixtures for the rest of the season there isn't a date that suits all clubs. So the best course of action must be, ride it at the NSS when the fans can get there (Sat Evening or Sunday Afternoon) and then with the extra profit from a bigger gate, compensate the club that loses out as they've got to run a double header to accommodate the meeting. Or is that too simple?? -

Very hit and miss forecast, plenty of showers about, you might not get one or you could get a heavy one, but that's bound to change in the next 24 hours. But unlike youknowwho, we'll make every effort to get it on. It'll be interesting to watch Erik Riss after his starring role on the telly last week, is he usually the type to shove his own riders in the fence? Or were those two incidents just a blip? I assume (and hope) the latter. -

I know it's only a tiny minority of fans that have a go, but having a pop at CL is totally wrong imo. Always been very approachable and whenever me or anybody I know has sent the club an email, a polite reply has been received fairly quickly. He's one of the few promoters in the Country that has actually made an effort to improve things, twice the track has been changed at considerable expense, when it's cold he doesn't bother with an interval after some fans complained. We've seen how good our track can be V Workington, but they had a team of triers, sadly for some, he's put together a very strong side that most teams can't compete with around Foxhall. Buster or Chris, only a complete moron would want the former if the past few weeks is anything to go by. -

Not being a doom merchant, and I hope the rain stops and it's on. But am I right in saying that we've had a situation before here where the track is ok but the car park is flooded, or am I thinking of somewhere else? -

Is it confidence with Sedgy or has he got doubleupitis? Appears certain riders just give up so easy these days, being cynical i suggest their attitude is, why hurt myself trying to get a point, when i can earn 5/6 points for my other club tomorrow. Stay fit and take the easy money that is currently on offer over here due to a dreadful lack of riders. I'd probably do the same if I was in their shoes. Lets face it, how many opposition riders have REALLY given it a go at Foxhall this season?
