  1. Looking forward to the perrennial whingers coming on here later eating large portions of humble pie. Superb entertainment, plenty of passing from start to finish. And if a team has got a 2nd string who can score a max and beat Cookie twice, then things are looking very good.
  2. Who was your maths teacher at school? Unless of course we have a season of double headers, this would probably be a good idea as they'd only be enough riders for 4/5 man teams if we went to one big league.
  3. Good news for the poor sod that has to try and arrange cup matches and any future fixtures, must be a nightmare with all these riders doubling up. But can't decide if it's a good thing for us or not, on one hand Kyle and Sedgy will have to give it their all for the Witches, but on the other hand less income might mean less money spent on decent machinery. P.S. Just seen Kyle signed for Leicester
  4. Who do you think will be good enough to stop Ipswich, Sheffield, Glasgow and Edinburgh getting there?
  5. Looking forward to this, Cookie in Town, a few showers during the day to give the track a natural watering. Only downside, Sarge is back, I don't blame him for trying to cheat, it's up to the people that run the sport to stop it, plenty of ways to do it, but they must think it's ok to keep fans standing around doing nothing while we wait for another restart. P.S. Certainly no team changes for me either. This team can do it!!!
  6. Sky used to get p****d off with the length of the meetings. No crashes last night and they still couldn't get 22 heats in on time. Ok, there was a few restarts, we all hate riders trying to cheat at the tapes, but the sport has done NOTHING about it, kick them out of the race and deduct 3 more points, that should stop them!! Speedway should be sucking up to BT after becoming (probably) the only sport to really p*** off Sky. Other sports embraced Sky and wanted to work with them to improve the sport for both parties, but Speedway just took the money and didn't invest a penny back into it, take, take, take,, and then there was nothing.
  7. Mildenhall website still showing Kent next week, most other places are showing the yanks are coming. I usually believe a clubs website over others, but this is Speedway, so I'll wait until it gets confirmed on here.
  8. Sadly cookie the horse has already bolted. Speedway has had a couple of chances for a new dawn, but they've been blown. Pointless looking to the future now, all they can do is try to keep afloat season to season. Unless of course you or someone else can come up with a masterplan for the future, but don't forget, you've got to tell us where you can magic a load of riders from first.
  9. Unlike most Witches fans, this result has filled me with confidence for the rest of the season. Edinburgh were one of the 2/3 sides I didn't think we would beat over two legs, but we obviously are capable. Just thankful all our riders got through unscathed, the track certainly has changed recently, even Erik Riss fell off last week when in the lead, so it's obviously a bit dodgy at the moment.
  10. Let's look on the bright side, we've only had one decent race in the past 2/3 meetings and that involved Mr Masters, so more of the same please Sam. Whenever I get down about the fact that our league is now getting diluted, I cheer myself up by looking at the Rye House fixture list, meeting May 20th, then last night, then one more before the end of July, when they have 3 in 8 days. Div 2 isn't great, but it's brilliant compared to the other one!!!
  11. Only problem with calling off meetings these days is, when you try and rearrange them, the chances are we'd lose some riders. Must admit I only looked at Masters and thought he'd be a lot better than who they had at No1 last time. Div 1 has had this problem for years, we've generally avoided it in Div 2, but with all this doubling up, it can only get worse.
  12. That's a bit harsh, hardly the promotion's fault. As it happens, surely the guests make the Bandits stronger.
  13. Great semi in Nagyhalasz on Saturday. Top 5 qualifiy Bartosz Smektala 14 Michael Hartel 13 Nick Skorja 12 Lukas Fienhage 11 Gleb Chugunov 10 +3 Eduard Krcmar 10+2 Jevgenijs Kosigovs 10+1 Victor Trofimov 10 Star of the show was Lukas Fienhage, kept us entertained all Afternoon, only a fall stopped him having a great chance to win it. None of us had him listed as one for the future before the event, but he certainly turned a few heads. What a track!! I'm no track expert, and this was only the 2/3rd occasion when I've walked into a stadium and thought to myself "this will be good", short straights, big bends it produced some great lines, also only a short run to the first bend so it was never a case of quickest bike wins. They hope to have a GP in years to come, if the GP circus was about Speedway and not money it would be nailed on, but I've seen the demands that BSI put on these places, so it will be a few years before they can get everything in place. P.S. spare programmes available if anybody wants one, just send me a PM with details.
  14. Racing was closer than last week, heat 13 was easily the best of the season. Track still a work in progress, just a shame we can't practice during the week and try various track options. Apart from Nathan's injury I thought we had the rub of the green a bit tonight.
  15. As you say,no sign of rain on any normal trustworthy websites. But there was no sign of rain at Sheffield tonight or at KL last night.
  16. Sitting in hotel room in Rybnik, so far loads of thunder, but only a couple of quick showers. My fourth attempt to do a meeting here, not hopeful.
  17. Not sure how it came across, but I was there and it was average at best. But at least 18 of the 20 riders turned up and the 5-1 in heat 20 to force a run off certainly added to the excitement. Speaking to a local official, looks like 2019 will be the year they apply to join the league. They were hoping for a crowd of 1,000, I counted about 700, so not too bad considering they was something big going on down by the lake. P.S. Just clicked on that link, no sign of Milan Manev, even though he's on that scorecard. Certainly looked like Zarnovica and Pardubice run with three riders, unless I'm losing it.
  18. Very valid point, is it the trackman? the promoter telling him what he thinks he should do? or is it the shale? ( Sheffield have blamed the shale, so I thought id better chuck that in). But I honestly think us fans deserve an explanation for that dross last night. I honestly think CL does care, I can't believe he thinks last night was acceptable. So come on CL, either point the finger at Bob, or gives us a valid excuse for the awful track prep last night.
  19. Not the first time a dry sunny day has meant awful track at night, but it shouldn't happen. What next? Us sensible people that won't go anywhere near a track if there's a threat of rain, do we now have to avoid going when the sun has shone all day? I won't put up with crap like that for much longer.
  20. Every season we say this when the Diamonds come to Town, and every year we end up looking like idiots, as they always seem to run us close. I suppose I'll have to leave home at 19-10 instead of 19-15 to divert away from the Show traffic.
  21. Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier, but is Bomber going to continue in the World Longtrack as well? That's another 4 Weekends out of the season if he does. I see he finished 2nd last in the first round, so it's obviously not his thing.
  22. Still coughing up at the moment, just can't afford to show it. Hence the Div 1 clubs didn't plead poverty when they pulled the plug at the start of the season, and they can still afford to pay Lindgren, Doyle etc for a bit longer. That's also why they agreed to let BT show it for nothing.
  23. Fully agree Cookie, but this is British Speedway, so the minority will always win over the majority. Once the sky deal ends and we lose more riders, a 12 team league would be feasible, but where do Newcastle, Berwick, Redcar etc end up? You know as well as I do, it will never happen.
  24. Certainly not enough rides unless we keep doubling up in place. And which two tracks would be booted out? As we all know, Speedway is all about self preservation in this Country.
