Hi mate,

Do you know if there are any plans for any speedway meetings (easily accessible by train) on the Sunday 14th October - the day after the German Grand Prix at Gelsenkirchen?

We are planning to stay in Dusseldorf, have flights but havent booked a hotel as yet.

Thanks for any advice you can supply

Not that i know of at this moment in time.But there could possibly be a rained off meeting in the future that is re-arranged for then.That has already happened once this season that a party of fans were looking for a meeting and then a rained-off meeting was arranged for just the day they wanted.Still time yet.Does seem like a promoter is missing out on a great opportunity

Hi

I am planning a trip to Oktoberfest in 2008, and would like to know if the season is still active at the end of Sept, so that I can get on a train to Olching or Landshut (or somewhere) to see some genuine German speedway action.

Thanks in advance for any help

Martin

There is a big speedway weekend at the end of September;

29.09.07 - Gustrow - German Championship Speedway Juniors

30.09.07 - Stralsund - German Championship Speedway

Yes, but I'll be coming to Germany next year. Is the German Championship always at this time of year?

Also, where are Gustrow and Stralsund?

I was hoping for somewhere no more than an houre or so by train from Munich, which is why I was hoping that Olching or Landshut might have something happening there?

Martin,i believe that stralsund is in north east germany and is around 850km from munich,i am not sure where you are staying but its around a 7 hour drive from munich,gustrow is located in north-west germany and is around 750km from munich or a 6 hour drive,,i'm sure iris or another german member can confirm this,hoipe it helps :)

Cheers

Like Matty says,Stralsund and Güstrow are about as far away from Munich as you can get.You'd be better off travelling to Austria or Slovenia :D

But yes,the German speedway season always runs until October.You might be lucky next season.As the German Championship and the U21 Finals are in the north this year they should be in the south next.When and where though, it is far too early to say
