He looked very tall and had a strange style, virtually stood up going into the bends, must of been about a foot between his backside and the seat.

 

Thinking now reminds me a bit of Frank Smart.

That's a contradiction!! Franks head spent most of it's time below the handle bars so his arse was planted firmly on the seat! Unless he was crashing spectacularly of course

 

Having looked at the photos on Ian Charles site, he looks like Kristan Lund/Nicki Glanz.

Maybe I was wrong but seemed to remember Frank guesting at Belle Vue few times long time ago and standing up going into the bends.

I guess with Frank it's entirely possible, the only consistent thing about his style is that it was unorthodox!
