Thoroughly enjoyed that. Congratulations to Poole on the win.

Good speedway and a great crowd there to watch it.

Only downside was the Belle Vue pairing. Not being nasty to the Aces, but that was

the weakest pairing I have ever witnessed.

Poor Leigh Adams came a right pearler again I see, hope this isn't going to become

a trend with him...

Some excellent examples of team riding going on there, specially the Hans and Noddy

pairing, way to go guys and well done for riding in the spirit of the competition.

As has already been said, what a refreshing change to see some proper speedway, rather than the Gate and go stuff we see all too often. Agreed, it doesnt need a rider to ring the throttle off the handlebars to provide entertainment, as was proven last night, (written early hours of Sunday morning).

Good Meeting and well done to Poole, great moves by Holder to slow down Lewis on the last lap so Hans could get past. Thought Wolves would have been in the mix, but PK was moved out in one and Freddie made a nightmare gate in the other.

Those mistakes cost and to be fair, Eastbourne, Coventry, Lakeside and Poole rode well all night.

FORMAT - That really needs looking at. This is all about not coming last and team riding ! ...... So had say Ipswich team rode in 2nd and 3rd place in each of their 4 qualifying heats, they would have svored 20 points .... not enough to make the semi finals.

This really needs cutting down to 8 teams (Belle Vue would have been the odd one out last night - sorry Aces fans). Then you draw two groups of four, all riding against each other with the top two from each group going through to the final.

As good as the settings were, think this meeting would have been even better at Monmore Green with more racing lines and loads more grip or hold it at a Premier League track like Kings Lynn, Somerset or Birmingham.

If this was held at monmore we would have had no reason to ride the meeting. Just give the title to Wolves and go home without getting the bikes dirty.

Riding this at Monmore would have been farcical.

Thats a bit negative..................however I agree that holding it at a PL cicuit would be better and more neutral.................and gives the fans a chance to see the top stars in action

WooooooooHoooooooooooo!!!!

So Pirates win one of the major trophies this year after all.

In a meeting that apparently was a nothing meeting in 2008 Steve.

Well done to the Pirates, particularly Hans who has shown this year & last that he is a superb team man.

Enjoyed this meeting alot, had alot of fun in the sun, some excellent races & a really good crowd to witness it.

As a footnote, hope this is The Eagles saviour, despite all that has been said & done nobody wants to see a club become defunct.

Congrats to Poole!! Easily the best pair in the league so a fair result! A pretty decent meeting in the end too!!

The commentary did annoy the hell out of me though and it bordered on disrespectful at times towards the Belle Vue boys. Yes we were understrength Nigel - very nice of you to force it down our throats every time the boys are on track and profess that the team against us "must surely be looking for maximum points from this one" I hope he felt very stupid when Morten beat Holder!!!

Well i really enjoyed that meeting! Good track, good racing and a good outcome. :approve: Even the drunk bees fans didn't spoil it, well they decided to support Poole in the final, so they have must have some sense!!

Still can't get over that we did it from the back twice! Well at least we have some silverware to show for the season. :D

Excellent meeting with plenty of decent racing and pssing on a wonderfully prepared track. Top job, Bob.

Atmosphere was very good, helped all the more by Eastbourne making the final.

Gutted we didn't make it through ourselves, Kennett seemed to panic when Holder was alongside him going into bend 1 then had no answer coming off the turn before his fall but difficult to see from where we were stood. Well done to Bomber though, who only dropped points on his 2 minutes exclusion - superb job :approve:

Couldn't decide who I wanted to win the final, in some respects if this is to be Eastbourne's final season, but it took an excellent bit of team riding from Holder to win it for Poole so credit to him for that. :approve:

Biggest cheer of the night was easily for Risagers last bend cut back under Holder to get the second. Excellent stuff that brought the house down :D

Something to do with the back tyre I presume. Assuming you are only allowed one tyre.

the bike he crashed broke the cut out wire when he hit the fence so while Martin Dugard fixed that he had the gearing on the spare bike changed to suit the track conditions ,but there was a problem with a loose chain after his practice start for the rerun.... rubbish happens

Well done to Hans and Crusty well deserved win tbh, good lesson for Bridger in how to get suckered

Good meeting all round

Also Hans showed Bridger how to do side saddle wheelies.. top man

Agree on the weakest pairing tomcat, seems we have gone from past winners to last in this competition, on the brighter side our weak pairing , which was constantly thrown down our throat finished the meeting a mere 2 pts behind Swindon.

Congrats must go to Poole, thoroughly deserving with some great team riding.
