To all Tigers fans, we will be having our first STAARS gathering this winter on Thursday 15th November 2012 at the usual venue at SAHA Social Club, Fulwood Road, Sheffield at 8pm.

As always its a chance for Tigers fans to have a catch up and to talk about all things speedway during the silly season (and anything else) and have a few beverages. All are welcome.

Big thanks to all our members for their support for the Tigers during 2012. Any new members would be very welcome for 2013.

IMO The Sport needs backing atm, I enjoy my odd visits to Sheffield, a great racing track, building teams is not easy these days so support your local team.

So already we're all doom and gloom - let's give the lad a chance, we've had some good Aussies over the years.

I've watched speedway for 51 years and this year was the first time I've ever wanted a season to end, probably the worst Sheffield team I've watched, but already I'm looking forward to next season.

Let's wait and see, be positive and give them our full support during the winter and next season.

Remember 1980 the team that Ray Glover put together was not that great to watch, the only consolation is he brought Shawn Moran to the club.

That's not unreasonable but....

There are many who predicted doom and gloom at the start of last season and they were proved right - but for a poor Plymouth side saddled with an appalling promoter, the Tigers would have finished bottom.

The last thing Sheffield Speedway needs is a sub standard team, way below the top 4 sides that have invariably been put out in the past. The effect on gates was there for all to see.

While its very early days and I don't think that the criticism of the team as a whole is fair at this stage, the fact is its debatable whether Koppe is worth a 5.00 average when someone like Stefan Nielsen could be obtained on a 3.00.

Koppe will be decent, if you have done your research? has beaten Auty ,Josh,G in Australia looks exciting a real racer.I think Owlerton will suit him bigtime he is a exciting rider i have only noticed him because I am a big fan of Josh Auty and followed his progress plus his dad was a well good rider he had a great career.

It makes you realise how good Ricky Ashworth was for you, only to be brushed aside and left with only Plymouth as an option. This looks like the start of another cheap team to me full of bu!!5hit and hope.

Not going to deny that I think that the Ricky Ashworth situation could and should have been dealt with better, but to suggest that the team is built on the cheap after two signings is daft.

Those with something against Sheffield Speedway are coming out of hibernation right on cue.
