Rosco stated in the Adver that riders could already have commitments elsewhere, or that date may not be acceptable to Belle Vue.

The operative word being "could" so should be clarified, like has been mentioned if we ride on a Thursday minus EK, even more fans will get fed up with who makes these micky mouse rules, surely EK rides for us and Berwick get the choice of pretty much any #1.

This is becoming a joke now riders unavailable r/r ect. the EL now is totally -----d. if we see one meeting a fortnight we are doing well. How has British speedway become from being the main powerhouse to basically surviving off the scraps.

This afternoon Kacper was in the World Under 21 semi at Rawicz, and although he was the meeting reserve he won all the races he was in. He got 9 from 3 rides where as the winner, P Dudek got 11 from 4, had Kacper had 4 rides he could have been first in this meeting. The meeting was abandoned but he finished 4th so will continue in the competition.

It is good that he has qualified but how many meetings may he miss for Swindon.

Seems a disjointed fixture list when in freezing early April the Robins had 5 meetings in 8 days(2 home/3 away)...won 'em all, on a great run of form....now we have very few this month with blank Thursdays. The Robins only had one meeting in just short of 3 weeks end of April. Also the Elite table has a bit of a lop-sided look, with some clubs playing catch up.Birmingham ridden 5, are above Eastbourne, ridden 12! They are almost halfway through their fixtures! We still have half of May, June, July, August to go. Without the cup matches there is even less speedway to watch. Surprised pre-season favourites Poole are bottom. Have they ever been bottom this century? Don't think they will end up there though. Looks to be the most level EL for a while, with no real outstanding or abysmal team so far. Fans could lose interest, and spend their dosh on other leisure interests if there is so little track action though. At least the Town have finished their fixtures. Hopefully there wont be too many meetings lost to the weather. Perhaps if next year there is one big league of say 18/19 clubs same as late 60s/70s there will be a more consistent fixture list riding home and away once. Not much chance of a return to the more popular weekend racing dates though.

Good speedway pull-out every Monday in the Adver. This week's article was a tribute to Robins legend Lee Richardson.

Thursdays getting boring with all the rubbish on the tele v w, just keeping interested by following updates and listening to the meetings on the radio.

There are cheaper(and warmer) alternatives to Blunsdon Hill, such as ten-pin bowling and pub quizzes. Or there's The Tube a History of the London Underground BBC2 9.00. ,

Just been chatting to Ronnie Russell, who said that he had been working on the track all day yesterday (not sure why, as there was no meeting!) and had it looking great. But then at about 6:45 this effing big black cloud came over the Swindon area and dumped a whole week's rain in about half an hour, so had there have been a meeting planned last night, there wouldn't have been one-if you get my drift! Question-should we change our race night? As it is looking like we might get a repeat of the record-breaking number of rain-offs again this year (despite Rosco currently not being perturbed by it according to the Adver!)
