SCB 0 Posted May 12, 2013 Its Swindon Speedway that have put out a statement saying they were helping Berwick out of their injury nightmare and the Kennett deal was only a short term arrangement. Maybe it's that and I read it as being for a month. Ill be honest I cannot remember where I saw it was only for a month and I'm doubting it now.

Berwick have been quick to point out that the door is not closed on Ricky Ashworth,so in a week or two,if Ashworth regains fitness he might just might come back into the team. You can be sure that a fit Ashworth will be an asset to any team,be it Berwick or somewhere else.
crescent girl 1,908 Posted May 12, 2013 Eddie didn't suggest there was any time limit on the deal when he spoke on the mike. With Ricky Ashworth's situation clouded by neurological doubts, there will be no question of any short-termism to the loan. If and when Ricky is declared 100% fit again, a choice will be made by all concerned.

IN-FORM Eddie Kennett is set to get busier after Swindon agreed a short term deal with Berwick for him to double-up at Premier League level. Excalibur Communications Robins co-promoter Gary Patchett said: "We are very happy to allow Ed to double up to help Berwick through their injury crisis. "Extra meetings will be good for Ed and we don't foresee any fixture clashes." The above is taken from the Swindon Speedway site. They think this is a short term deal to aid Berwick through their injury concerns.
Bandits4eva 1,006 Posted May 12, 2013 Eddie himself said he will be very happy staying for as long as we need him! And crescent girl is right... Unless you're the specialist consultant in neurology treating Ricky, no-one can tell for sure how long this will keep him out for! Main thing, especially considering the knocks he's taken, is that he comes back 100% fit!

Firstly, can you not give it a rest about how long Eddie will be a Bandit for? Even having him as a guest for one meeting would be great. It was a pretty open statement from the club, they do not have a crystal ball, in case you hadn't noticed. Sarah didn't ask if you were trained as a neurologist. She was stating that only a specialist professional would have any idea of how long it will take Ricky to recover. Saturday was a fantastic response to a very poor start to the season. All the stops were pulled out and we were served with a fantastic speedway meeting. It reminded me of why the sport is so great. It is exhilarating when at it's best, like on Saturday. I'm looking forward to having a few mates coming for the first time, and some returning for the Sky meeting. If it is as good as Saturday, I expect they will come again this year. They are even talking about bringing their girlfriends.
greyhoundp 990 Posted May 12, 2013 Really pleased for Berwick, eddie is a class rider, but in Paul Starke, you have signed a rider who may not ever be a World Champ, but he is a good Team man, and can gate, he has shown over the years he is keen to make his mark, hence Travelling to Plymouth, Travelling to IOW, and up to Newcastle, and thats for so called Home meetings This year he has signed for The Heathens in the NL <wow> almost on his doorstep, and again shown his determination by signing for you, and Home meetings on his doorstep <not> given the time he will make his mark for you, maybe not as a double points scorer, but as a solid 4/5 point man, and be honest ALL Teams need them.
