It gives a lot more detail. Says 2 reserve heats and reserves will also face 2nd strings only. Riders from PL and NL with little or no EL experience will qualify and allocation will be based on where they are an asset and/or where the rider is based. The BSPA press release had none of that information.

Aaah thanks, just found it in the `latest news` section. Much more detail that really should be coming from the BSPA!

They should have asked Cook to put out the press release as the release put out by the bspa office could have been a lot clearer.

It gives more detail, but it is no clearer. Now some PL riders will be eligible to ride at reserve, but no criteria has been laid out. The heat format is changing, but no one knows what to.

 

I would have preferred a high level press release, like the BSPA one and then a more detailed press release once the details had been finalised. Instead we have this halfway house where nobody knows if they are coming or going.

Not much chance of the former in the new 2014 league structure (sorry, can't bring myself to call it Elite) but to lose Peterborough and the EoES, as it stands, for no good reason should Section the BSPA in reality!

It will be those NL riders not classed as 'wobblers' and some of the lower-end PL Brits, under a certain average (not sure what average?!).

 

Selections and nominations will be made by the Team GB and U21 management teams into A-grade and B-grade, and the 'allocation' (or draft) to be made in early December. Selected riders will not be required to be attached to a club that is a long way from their base!!

The only trouble I see is that a certain rider who is not classed as a "wobbler" was accused by some of being a part in Ricky Ashworth's bad crash & pushing riders to soon can only risk these sort of incidents by them overiding.

If the reserves race each other and then the second strings, one change from this year may need to be that the two second strings will probably have to be the riders with the lowest averages, so the riders in positions 2 and 4 will have to be those riders and unlike this year those two riders cannot be moved about.

 

This is also allows more races with just the heat leaders.

if so it wouldn't it also reduce costs for promoters? or will the heat leaders be asking for better start/points money to compensate for potentially fewer points scored?
