MRSKIPPY 0 Posted January 5, 2014 Conkers - we are all booked to go to the Ice Racing in Sanok for the first time at the end of the month but the weather is +7 at the moment. Will the racing be called off if the temperature is too high or is there an under track cooling system to guarantee the meeting is on?? Thanks

iris123 20,993 Posted January 5, 2014 I read an article somewhere where it said the weekend costs around 70000 euros to organize. That includes the extra ice...If i remember correctly wasn't some of the cooling pipes too close to the surface the first year and there was a danger that the spikes would come into contact and ruin it? iris123 20,993 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) I was very surprised that the meeting went ahead earlier in Weissenbach.Temp all around Germany,Switzerland and Austria are pretty mild for this time of year. They are going up to around 14 degrees in parts of Germany in the next few days.Looking at Jespers pix there is little snow on the mountains around the track!!!! So they done a brilliant job to get 30cm of ice down.Meetings in Poland,Sweden and Czech look to have been postponed until later. Walking around at the weekend it seems like spring here. The Japanese cherry trees are in blossom and flowers are blooming!!!! At least Finland beat Sweden in the Ice Hockey final lol Edited January 6, 2014 by iris123
