King's Lynn Stars V Leicester Lions - Wed 16, July - #shavetheroo

Recommended Posts

You've posted some squit on here before GRW but to blame a dropped point on a sixteen year old who averages just over five and scored six takes the biscuit. If you want a reason blame one of the engine failures or the fact that Porsing was on a lawnmower for his last three rides. Simon Lambert has done thousands of laps round Lynn over the years, the fact he is 20th in e FTR list is irrelevant. Go outside and have a word with yourself for crying out loud.

You could say the same about every rider in the league then,as most have been beat by the so called lesser riders. This is speedway and nothing is a certainty.I bet most second strings in the league have been beat by the likes of Kerr,Blackbird,Garrity and Worrall the FTR's that shouldn't be beating them according to you.

Talking of Steve Worrall, what exactly IS his status? He started the season as one of Swindon's FTRs and he even guested for Wolves at Lynn as an FTR, but now Swindon have two others as FTRs - yet he was still at reserve for them only last week!

In fairness GRW we win as a team or in this case we drop 1 point as a team. As you well know you get the odd strange result in Speedway, it's not a fine science, thankfully. Lambo beating Robert was a surprise, but hey it happens. Last night the team were not quite on it, yet we still won the meeting. Sign of a decent team that says to me

All the Stars fans complaining about the passing at BP seem to have gone to ground. I expected to have my nose rubbed into the spectacular moves and thoroughly good racing last night. Oh well maybe next time!!!!!

Disappointed.com

You want your nose rubbed? OK well there several heats with passes after lap1 bend2 last night for starters, and there were also several heats where riders were closely battling for position for the whole race - NEITHER of these events happened at Leicester on Monday.

Yes there were a several heats too where the rider who gated stayed in front but that happens everywhere - unfortunately its the norm at Leicester after L1B2.

This was definitely not one of the best matches racing-wise at Lynn this season but was still far better than the tripe served up at Leicester on Monday.

How's your nose feel?

Still is a FTR at Swindon as far as I am aware.Down in the averages as a FTR on the BSPA site and he is riding tonight for them.

Being a major part of the race to the bottom is nothing to shout about.

Rose was upset at being removed from heat 14 hence his absence from the centre for the last heat and the parade truck. Last seen having an animated discussion with Rob in the pits, hope it got nipped in the bud.

Let's hope Rose don't get to upset and buckles down and carry on with his progression.Because if Lynn wanted to be ruthless Simon Lambert must be up for grabs now Birmingham have finished for the season.

Hope things get sorted though as he has been good as our 2nd FTR this season.

Well GRW123 Did you go and speak to Robert after the meeting!!!!!!!!!

I did and he was so disappointed with his first 2 rides, he had bike problems and he changed to his second bike and in heat 8 he flew and won the race, then in heat 14 he was trying hard to pass klindt.

Why are you so anti him!!!!!!!! and don't come on here and say your not because in one hand you are bringing him down and then on the other you are giving him a little bit of praise!!!!!! at the beginning of the season he set a target of 4/5 points and he would be happy, and in my mind he is maintaining that plus more..... I think he is more than proving himself and if left alone he will continue to improve....he don't want people like you expecting more from the lad :-/

Apart from a couple of poor seasons recently , simon lambert has always ridden the NA well, in fact I think he averaged around 10 pts per meeting at home the season he partnered Tom in the pl, but his away form let him down and I believe still does, so to even consider replacing lewis rose with simon lambert would be very short sighted and rob aint daft.

If anything , maybe next season there should be a cap on the number of times an "away" ftr can guest at one particular track, eliminating to a certain extent , the use of a "track specialist" by all and sundry

Whow:: To me, an opinion is to say what you think. When someone does good, I'm the first to agree and give praise . Likewise when I see something I disagree with, I also say. Just because some people want blow sunshine up people ar-es all the time, and don't speak out in the times when don't so good, you then undermine the times when you give praise. So yes I do praise Robert up when he performs well, and yes I do voice an opinion when I think he could do better. That to me is not wrong....

I'm am not anti Robert, far from it. I'm one of his biggest supporters. but it doesn't blind me when he is subdued. I'd pay good money just to see him ride. At times he's unbelievable, some of his riding is sublime and his passing can be awesome. For a 16 yr old, he's a very special indeed.

But that's the problem. Having witness the special talents of Michael Lee and Darcy Ward when starting out, whether they were first or last you could see the special talent oozing out of them in every race. Where Robert is concerned, some races you can see it oozing out, and others its not. and that's disappointing. It's as if he's just going through the motions

You say he set a target of 4/5 pts at the start of the season. To me that's way too low. He is far better than that. Just beating this years FTR would give him a better average than that . Bearing in mind the new heat format giving him protection of riders who he races against, he is more than capable of 6/7 pts with ease, probably even closer to 8. Could it be he's not aiming high enough. I don't know, but rest assured if he was only getting 4/5's Rob would be worried sick going into the play-offs, that's for sure.......

[ Gordon Bennett] I have never blamed just Robert for the reason we dropped a point, that's all in your mind. What I said was when the team is up against it everyone has to stand up and be counted. and that includes a 16yr old. I'm sure if you asked Robert, he wouldn't be happy only scoring 6 pts.

I did blame all those things you mentioned for the reasons we dropped a point, But then again you only read what to want to.

Which was true. As was also the case of Posing Rory's or Kenneth E/F, any one of those issues could have made all the difference. Don't forget when Rose dropped it on the first bend, But Mad's puncture probably equalled that one out.

I am not saying its wrong everyone is entitled to there opinion......But if a rider under performs it must be because there is a problem somewhere, this is the case with Robert last night, I do not like to voice an opinion until I know/find out what went wrong.....this is the only problem I have because people are very quick to judge someone when they under perform without knowing the true facts first.....
