Berwick V Rye House (pl) - Now 23/8

Recommended Posts

It amazes me that people think he is pulling up trees in the EL even. Lets have a look at the riders who he has actually beaten in the EL this season other than his team mates and his fellow draft riders, most of those he should be beating anyway considering he was one of the highest graded.

Nicolai Klindt - PL 6/7 point man, on par with Garrity.

Richard Lawson (2 times) - PL 8 point man, where Garrity should be this season anyway.

Dakota North (2 times) - PL 6/7 pointer. North was a non finisher when Garrity beat him at Coventry 9/5.

Simon Gustafsson - EL 6 pointer.

Ty Proctor (2 times) - Riding pants this season, his PL average shows that. Garrity should be beating him.

Nico Covatti - PL 6/7 pointer.

Richie Worrall - Having a poor season, Garrity should be on par with him.

Michael Palm Toft - PL 5 pointer.

Scott Nicholls - Beat him guesting for Birmingham at Belle Vue.

Jacob Thorssell - EL 6 pointer.

Ricky Wells - PL 6/7 pointer.

Nick Morris - Morris was excluded when Garrity beat him on 18/8

That's 12 , a majority of whom Garrity is on par with. Not exactly setting the world alight. This shows he's picking up the majority of his points from NL riders.

Apologies from swerving off the actual thread topic.

Of that list who do you thing that Garrity is on a par with.

Procter!

Agreed but the poster said the majority, that's seven at least and to be honest I`m struggling to get a majority.

Personaly I think Garrity is well overrated ,a crash waiting to happen.

Can't see what the fuss is about with Garrity. Awful, horrible crunched over style on the bike and very much a white line rider.

He's English, they're desperate to have another Golden Boy, Tai can't do it on his own now we know Cook is just a flat track bully. Unfortunately Garrity hasn't got the backing or the right people around him to make it big in the sport.

Forecast tomorrow is for a dry morning, the afternoon will be mostly dry but there will be scattered showers about from late afternoon onwards but if the luck is with us the majority of them will miss Berwick. Its going to be chilly so it might be time to dust off that old Berwick hat and scarf.

Being generous in saying Klindt. The progress he has made so far since he joined Rye House would have carried on this season IMO if he'd just been riding for us and he would be a 7/8 pointer in this division but he's had his head turned by taking pocket money off of NL riders in the "EL" this year.

Agree with you to some extent, but you're not going to progress riding once a week. That's where we have suffered this year. Apart from the odd guest ride, most of our side are riding exclusively for the Rockets. Edward, Luke, Steve & Bunny all have full time jobs/businesses outside of speedway. It's really just a hobby for them. At least Garrity is getting on the track more often, albeit against mostly inferior opposition. Edited by Shadders

The Riders realise that the Sport is just about finished in the UK, so it's really just a good way of earning some spending money, they now treat the sport with the same attitude that the promoters treat them, picking and choosing Meetings, looking at a track and deciding it's just not worth the risks involved, the Promoters have brought it on themselves, it's a shame but life moves on, Speedway and the Cinema in the high street were the places to go once upon a time, but those times have long since gone, the Cinemas moved into the 21st century with multi point complexes etc, and have survived, Speedway has brought in Fast track, pmsl.

Why the hell at Rye House not just using a Newcastle rider as a guest? Surely there no better way of saving costs?!

If Newcastle were racing 1st yes, but why risk their machinery for another team, when they are racing later.

Possibly because, if they got injured in the first match guesting for Rye House, it would mean Newcastle would be stuffed for the second match?

I've seen it a few times when the guest has already been in the first half of the meeting. Never this way round

Bv vs Lakeside/Eastbourne. Both away teams had a reserve missing so they used the other teams reserve as a guest - or planned to until it rained.

The other way to look at it is the Newcastle rider would have had track time to get his bike set up. As for needing guests, Rye House have a few riders! Unless it was a real apocalypse and all of Rye Houses riders got injured :o
