E I Addio 15,849 Posted August 30, 2015 . More than 'half-decent' ! . . Arthur's highest levels of achievement in motorcycle sport were as a member of the British ISDT team (International Six Day Trial,) mostly on a big Cheney-Triumph, during both the '60s and all of the '70s, representing his country at senior level all over the world in the annual event, (which subsequently morphed into the ISDE.) . I was referring to observation trials rather than the ISDT, and I don't think he did enough of those to get to any sort of high standard.
spinkox 37 Posted August 30, 2015 I believe he had been using a Jawa 2 valve engine in some road races - is this still the case??
uk_martin 1,606 Posted August 30, 2015 The most important bit has been missed...he's a damned decent darts player too! Arthur featured as a guest for the Birmingham Speedway Supporters Club team that beat Leicester (Ray Wilson and all) some years back.
OGT 612 Posted August 31, 2015 He did well to come back from the broken leg he sustained in the ISDT in Czecho in 1972. I remember there being a right old rigmarole to get him back over here. I also heard that he did the Cadbury's ad in one take, telling the director where to go when he asked him to do it again.
