What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.

Recommended Posts

Sounds like just a flex of muscles from new agency and wake up call to promoters to get house in order.

With the offer to run workshops it will resolve itself in time for season. Every club knows the new conditions/regulations so its time for a more structured approach from all members of b.s.p.a to ensure all clubs/riders now strictly adhere to ukvi expectations. From a riders point of view it must be a worry incase the promoters cant pass the workshop but lets hope they can. The amature approach has to go and some sort of independent body or group take control and let the promoters just eh...promote.

Each club must now have a club administrator who only deals with these delicate issues and keeps records of any change to visa regulations. Having a working relationship with ukvi and building good understanding of sport/visa requirements is whats needed and is probably easy to do.

Wish all riders involved make it over for march cause league will suffer without them.

Thats their problem,is it not, nothing to do with this thread.

My point is we make it to easy for them to come over for seven months of the year, jump into a job, that in fact a British subject can do, is it not.

There would be a few Australians from way back who would argue about that if they were still alive.

On this issue - I still cannot forget all of the 'Anzacs' who gave their lives for this Country in two World Wars - Gallipoli springs to mind.

That was then, this is now. Plenty of Brits died fighting for Australia as well, but it doesn't get us any special favours Down Under, and many Australians now originate from countries that didn't commit to any side.

Of course this is all a bit daft, but it's the consequence of 'cracking down on immigration' as you advocate elsewhere.

Another UKBA balls up, with the help of speedway promoters? Thats what it looks like, year after year, must be time for our promoters to join together & form an non EU rider pool before the start of each season? Ashley Morris & others start warming your engines.

So which British riders played Poker and haven't signed yet, probably knowing that there would be some better deals on offer.

Yes, but only if we had enough riders to go around, which we haven't. That is one of the reasons why we have D/U arrangements, so employing migrants like Yanks and Aussies does not displace a Brit.

Bollocks. Far too broad a conclusion to reach, but noticeable that you want to chastise a certain poster. Childish behaviour. You can, and the country needs, to control immigration so that we only allow in those we need and want. Importing sportsman at a certain ability is entirely a different situation and you know that.

If Sedgeman and Masters face waiting till mid March to attain their visa`s, its fair to say all the other riders will be in the same boat, mid March is cutting things a bit fine for some clubs.
