If you put a Reserve is Heat 1 he's hardly a reserve choice. You are arguing against your own point which is barmy anyway and your latest post proves it.

 

 

Actually putting your best rider at reserve is something that often happens in the ice speedway team championship.Germany had Günther Bauer at reserve last year.Russia had Nikolai Krasnikov at reserve in 2014(I think) and Austria used Franky Zorn at reserve in 2013......in speedway it makes maybe even more sense as you have more flexibility

They wouldn't hardly be a reserve choice, which is exactly the point. A team manager could use them tactically in particular heats rather in a pre-programmed order.

 

I'm not going to argue the toss about it - I was merely pointing reasons you might put your best rider at reserve if there are no restrictions. I think in the past team managers have occasionally done precisely that, but you know best...

But there are restrictions I believe in the SWC. Anyhow, I'm not going to argue the toss either. Happy Christmas.
