SCB 15 Posted October 18, 2015 According to a new announcement on the Lakeside website there is a cooling off period before any announcements, and reading between the lines it seems to be due to seeing who will be prepared to sign up to the EDR next year. However Jon Cook and Neil Vatcher say they have enough information to start signing three or four riders plus of course AJ who has already said he is coming. You don't need to read between any lines. It's because the silly buggers in charge forgot to vote on a constitution change that would allow an AGM before the end of the season. So they have to wait until November 1st before they can official vote on the changes and sign them off! And they wonder why the fans think they're incompetent. SteveEvans 248 Posted October 18, 2015 AJ is signed for Lakeside and their press release also talks about a fast track draft. I'm not expecting any major changes this year.

SteveEvans 248 Posted October 19, 2015 Because it's all working so well... It probably more solvent this year as I would assume its 25% more Sky money (2 less teams) for 28% less home meetings. So the Sky subsidy goes further. Of course crowd levels would be a whole other subject.

Reliant Robin 492 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Sky only pay clubs compensation when they have home meetings on sky. There isn't a subsidy anymore. Incorrect....Clubs receive an amount for being in the Elite League as well as a sum for each home meeting Edited October 19, 2015 by Reliant Robin
waiheke1 4,295 Posted October 19, 2015 Personally would like to see a reversion to the 1988 BL format, minimum 3 Brits per team one of whom must be under 21. Would mean bulk of ftr riders would still get a team spot, progression would mean getting tougher rides in main body of team, as all riders averages would count (current fast track riders to come in either at 0.5 of el average or 0.6 of pl) for team building should even teams up, and would avoid anomalies like r worrall not having a spot while lesser riders did. Ideally this would be combined with pl having two British reserves u21/23.

Uner the law that would be a non starter .....the worst thing about the rules have been the way yet again how Poole have been allowed to get the best deal in the draft thou they win the league every year ....I expect the same this year . It's only really against the law when a court says so. Bring in the rule, let some foreigner test it in court. Could take months or even years. Season has started by then. The BSPA don't eve have to fight it so no cost to them!
AJK86 180 Posted October 19, 2015 Well first details of AGM to be released at 1pm, no doubt the sport is in its best shape ever and nothing much had to be changed !

Trees 2,814 Posted October 19, 2015 Well first details of AGM to be released at 1pm, no doubt the sport is in its best shape ever and nothing much had to be changed ! We're a fickle lot, in one breath we ask for big changes, in another they should have a plan and stick to it! They have had a plan with the FTR ....... The main things I would like changed is 2 nights a week racing and to improve the presentation of meetings big time ....

The main things I would like changed is 2 nights a week racing and to improve the presentation of meetings big time .... Personal opinion is the actual rules they have don't matter so much. It's the running of a meeting that kills the sport. Does it really matter what average riders come in on for 90% of people? No. Does it matter what the tac rules are for 90% of people? No. Does it matter that a meeting drags on for 2.5 hours with very little happening except for some crappy music being played? YES! Does it matter that meetings are postponed and re-arranged on a whim? Yes! The sports issues are not the rule. It's all the small things.
