So how long left at the present stadium, before it's surrounded by houses and the bulldozers move in.

The stadium is already surrounded by houses. They demolished the away pits and built a house in its place.

Having the stadium there doesn't seem to have deterred people from buying the houses, which will obviously be the main concern of the developers. There are still several phases of development unstarted, so I think they will run the stadium until those phases are complete.

I'd say probably three years before the stadium is closed.

That wouldn't be hard to work out..

.

Before the plans were seen, when originally they were going to shorten the present track to build across the corner of bend 1.

Anyway just be careful of what you post as Poole could be next.

Getting close to the end of the season and no news announced.

The only positive is the Council still insist that the old stadium cannot be demolished until the new one is built.

Even so it would be good to have an update from above.

Do you have a link to where that is stated in the planning documents?

They can say what they want, and as usual they are talking out of their backside.

Stadia can just stop the dog racing and tell speedway sorry you cannot rent the stadium anymore. Then just let it go to rack and ruin and later offer to build houses on it.

The Council should have greatly reduced the number of houses Stadia could build until the new stadium was finished and up and running, where as Stadia have exceeded the house number they were allowed to build and have kept coming up with excuses for not starting the new one.

Obviously not directly related but not good news for the likes of Swindon.

A planning application from a cricket club that has been in place since 1866, has people in a new housing estate complaining about the noise of leather on willow and grunting players!

What is the world coming to?!!

It was 2015

Why not have one every year, looks like one year it will be true, sadly

Could do as no one knows when we might have a new stadium to move to.

My view is that it would be far better on a Coventry thread ;)

...I would agree however it does highlight the fact that stadiums such as Coventry and Oxford have been left vacant, which is nothing short of a disgrace in my opinion, instead of being put to good use.
