Stockholm Gp Saturday September 24th

Recommended Posts

Why have the Swedes turned their back on this gp?

My guess is that:

It's too expensive

Far from good enough racing (especially in relation to the ticket price).

No Swedes in top contention.

Traffic in the area around the arena is a mess. Limited or non existent possibilities to travel by car.

There is a commuter train but it is still a fair walk to the arena.

No established speedway club in Stockholm

Stockholm has allot of other things to offer.

Swedes care about football and icehockey, rest of the sports are pretty small in exposure and attendance. (Swedish rally championship

being the exception when it comes to attendance).

People have better things to do on a Saturday evening.

Went to the Stockholm GP when Trick was wc in an old stadium and it was a sellout.

Just deserts for Kildemand. Now Hancock hit the same rut.

Yeah Stockholm Olympic stadium, it's a no go nowadays though since they get new running tracks and it is not allowed to cover them with dirt.

I'd be interested to hear what the "offical" attendance is as it looks as though someone (not BSI ;) ) has lost their shirt on this one.

Unfortunately Stockholm will go the same way as Parken

Possible, I wouldn't mind if they tried Tele 2 arena for a year though. Friends arena is way too big and T2 is only around 30K capacity wise.

it is also easier to access, lots of parking in the area as well as a subway station very close.

Probably won't do a major difference but perhaps better then Friends arena.

I see Matt Ford and his wife watching in the crowd.

Team riding by Doyle in Semi Final 1, slowing down around 1 and 2 to mess up the Poles and let Holder round the outside? Looked pre planned to me, but what do I know, lol.

No I don't believe that. You just want to blast away its an individual and you are not going to risk avwc for someone else.

Unbelievable how fast Doyle's bikes have become. From being an average rider to probable WC, amazing.

I actually think Doyles starts are better than Hancocks.....

the drive from the line to the first corner, he is easily a bike length clear!

Well done to Doyle. Unstoppable imo.

Well done birthday boy Holder who showed real resolve to get second. Only 9 points behind the bronze medal.
