June01 270 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) Congratulations to Bartosz Zmarzlik for his incredible achievement, which seems to have been forgotten amongst all this, and also to Niels Kristian Iversen for making it into the top 8. Some exciting riders in the series next year - I'm really looking forward to it already. Edited October 22, 2016 by June01

It was indeed nice to see that Lindbäck and Iversen actually got a grip of themselves and finished top 8 and thus saving us from Bjerre. NOBODY 538 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) What a great shame Doyley couldn't ride. He would have wrapped the championship up nicely what with sulky pants withdrawing. Edited October 22, 2016 by Sniffy
Liontamer 202 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) Never been fooled by the Mr Nice Guy Crap. Good rider, but he & his monster gang of mercenary bullies are, in my opinion the worst thing that has happened to speedway in a very long time. Can't stand Hancock or Woffinden & as for that tosspot MonsterJoe, get rid quick while speedway still has an ounce of credibility left. Bruiser McHuge 589 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) Well what a load of rubbish that statement was..you could clearly see Hancock looking for Holder all race... If he was that worried about the bike then why ridea it..after all he's probably the most equipped rider in the world equipment wise..surely he wouldnt ride a bike that endangers himself and his other riders would he...not such a nice man as Greg !!....he's never been shy about changing bikes in other rounds... The worst part about it though is pulling out ..without fans he is nothing but he forgets that ...just like he wasn't bothered about British fans who wanted to see him at Belle Vue earlier in the year ..his Grin is fake ..Mr nice guy ...I think not .. Fromafar 10,375 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) What a load of bull#hit from Hancock,he would have been better saying nothing than that load of crap, why did he not just pull over if he was that concerned for his safety.Poor sportsmanship to pull out the Aussies will keep their money in their pocket next year.Speedway shot in the foot again. To get to the top you cant be nice all the time so I've no problem with him showing a nastier side from time to time. Trouble is his many fans seem to think the sun shines etc.
Gr8scot 589 Posted October 22, 2016 So sad that such a great GP will be talked about and remembered for all the wrong reasons...... Congratulations to Chris Holder on a great win and commiserations to Jason Doyle (my series "winner") Plenty of entertainment from all the guys trying to stay in or get into the top 8 (speedway out of Kelvin's top drawer) 2016 revelation....... Bartosz Zmarzlik !!! Well done that man
Undercover Elephant 50 Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) Just got home from the Grand Prix weekend, and I've got to say the consensus around our seating area on Saturday was one of dismay which at first was judged at the time to be team riding by the petrolhead followers. I did somewhat think he rode more loose in that ride but no concrete proof at first. Our section had many raised eyebrows on the decision made and it felt a lot of fans were in agreement at the finish. You only had to notice subtleties on several occasions with Greg looking round in that race, and the way he was riding the bike not 100% as Crump states on commentary looking back, that a bike failure wasn't seen to blame in this instance, or so we thought from Greg's statement on the issue. I was pretty furious at the time when word got around that he withdrew himself in protest from the meeting, because in essence I believe he got bloody caught out this time round. Up until last night I was still one of his admirers, but enough is enough. I kind of turned a blind eye to his well documented antics in retaliation to Nicki and the Team USA race off withdrawal etc. His association with Joe Parsons in particular, and the continuation of Joe playing the role as Director of special Marketing projects for M.E, the perception is of someone who became a Mark for his riders in the sport. The Trump fanatic who has put himself in the thick of the action instead of winding his neck in and calm the reigns in his bubble have come unstuck. Parsons has been publicly critical of Pedersen in a role he has no real business passing comment within his association as main sponsor of a series filtering into league racing, when he should just keep quiet on matters that the riders should sort out for themselves. Question now is if no action is to be taken by the FIM on Hancock's withdrawal last night on the evidence clearly seen, despite Hancock's explanation on his webpage. He speeded up in parts of that race which does beg several questions of rider safety in his explanation. It doesn't add up why he decided not to pull up if the problem he's claiming is true. His riding position was questioned by experts of the sport during that moment and it may not have been obvious at first, but something wasn't right as the laps unfolded. A complete disregard for the paying fans which is unforgivable in my estimation which didn't look good for the sport no matter who the rider in question was in summary. proud panther 1,505 Posted October 23, 2016 So one minute Hancock is saying he is nothing without his wonderful team of mechanics, & the next minute he is saying they never spotted a dodgy clutch for 3 races. What a load of old cobblers. Ban him from the first GP next year.

junior fan 132 Posted October 23, 2016 So one minute Hancock is saying he is nothing without his wonderful team of mechanics, & the next minute he is saying they never spotted a dodgy clutch for 3 races. What a load of old cobblers. Ban him from the first GP next Cmon if your going to bullrubbish make it believable, the levers and cable are used to dissenagage the clutch, once its then let back out at the start it doesnt matter if they all fall off it wont dissengage the clutch again unless the lever is pulled back in again. The clutch may not have been working when he came into the pits but that doesnt mean the clutch was slipping as happened to Holder. I may add i dont really care that he did what he did but take it on the chin and move on. Junior
